Kylara Jensen | 437 comments I noticed Walk on Earth a Stranger is on sale ($2) at Amazon for Kindle. I liked it, so I kind of want to buy it, but I don't know if I'll ever want to read it again.

I think the last book I bought was Felicia Day's memoir because it includes a ticket to see her. She's coming to ABQ at the end of April!

I personally liked Walk on Earth a Stranger but it wasn't what I was expecting. If you are a history buff who likes historical novels it's probably right for you. If are more into magical/paranormal/fantasy genres and DON'T like historical novels then it probably isn't. I found it to be very lacking in her whole 'gold finding' ability. :(

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I've recently ordered quite a few books since I haven't been able to buy any since Christmas.

What's Left of Me (The Hybrid Chronicles, #1) by Kat Zhang Acne, Asthma, and Other Signs You Might Be Half Dragon by Rena Rocford Glass Sword (Red Queen, #2) by Victoria Aveyard Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop Burning Glass (Burning Glass, #1) by Kathryn Purdie The Impostor Queen (The Impostor Queen, #1) by Sarah Fine Sword and Verse (Sword and Verse, #1) by Kathy MacMillan

message 5: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments Yes, I agree. I enjoyed the historical pioneer-y aspect, but her gold finding ability is almost irrelevant.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Kylara wrote: "Yes, I agree. I enjoyed the historical pioneer-y aspect, but her gold finding ability is almost irrelevant."

Her next book is coming out in September and I'm hoping that it is more about her ability.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Well I just preordered several books and now need to stop spending money. At least I'll have these beauties on release day.
The Raven King (The Raven Cycle, #4) by Maggie Stiefvater The Dark Talent (Alcatraz, #5) by Brandon Sanderson Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) by Leigh Bardugo

I'll also have Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection and White Sand but they don't have covers on them yet.

Nice haul! :)

I've been meaning to start the Raven Boys series and Six of Crows is one of the books I own that I haven't gotten to read yet. :/

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments You should definitely read Raven Boys! And Six of Crows. I'm hoping to reread it in July or August before Crooked Kingdom comes out at the end of September, so let me know if you want to buddy it!

message 10: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments Wow, so much money on books. I rarely can afford to buy new books.

message 11: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments I'm so excited for Raven King. I'll probably re-read Blue Lily, Lily Blue this month

I'm hoping to try both this month but I have so many books that I don't know if I can get to them. If I don't I'll try to BR Six of Crows with you in July or August and read the Raven Boy Cycle books in May. ^-^

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Cool!

Kylara, I shouldn't spend so much on books but I can't help myself. I'm only buying Raven King because I'm going to London on May 5th and want to read it before that. I know my library won't have it.

message 14: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White is on sale for $2 in the Kindle store. It's on my to-read list so I think I'll buy it. But I'll actually start reading now for a change, that way I can return it if I don't want to keep it. I hate the idea of how much money I've spent on horrible books.

message 15: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments Also, I had a neat idea today. I'm going to post a pic of my bookshelves later today. I think it would be fun to see everyone else book shelves.

message 16: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Hope you enjoy the book! That's one reason I'm generally very careful about the books I buy; I don't want to waste money on the ones I don't like!

Good idea about the book shelf! I should try and get some pictures of mine to post.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I just ordered some great books for May! I'm very excited for there arrival! :D

I do too! I've tried the Japanese version of the book that I've got from the library (It's really good! :D) but it doesn't have the Korean version of many of the rest of the series. :/

message 20: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments It's good that you've already had some positive experience with it then! It's hard to find those types of books for the Asian languages near where I live. Spanish is everywhere, as well as some of the other popular European languages.

I have friends who speak Japanese and Korean. They served missions for our church in those countries, so it's cool to ask them questions about it. :)

Japanese and Chinese are pretty easy to find but Korean is a lot harder. :/

I mostly find Korean resources online and through watching Korean dramas.

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments Has anyone read Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee ? It's onsale in the Kindle store this month and I'm thinking about buying it. Worth it?

message 23: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments Oh, also I recently bought You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day bc Felicia Day came to town for a book signing. Now I don't know where to shelve it. I don't have a memoir section of my shelves. Maybe I'll put it with my writing books?

message 24: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I haven't read Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee , but I know loads of people who love it. So if it's your kind of read then I'd say go for it, based on what I've heard from others.

I think a writing shelf would be appropriate for that one. :)

message 31: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments I'm kind of in the middle of it. It got put on pause for a while, but I'll probably pick it up and finish it this month

message 32: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Well I hope you enjoy it. I liked it when I read it, but haven't decided if I want to pick up the sequel.

I'm iffy about it as well since I'm still not clear on whether it's a play or novel. Either way I had to have it to complete my collection though. :/

message 39: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yeah. I think it's a play. But I haven't seen anything specifically talking about how it's formatted.
