Quenya Learners discussion
Questions and Suggestions

Hey, how is everyone doing? Summer is coming and I have a few things left to do for school. I think I could organize sth to do during June/July and we could have discussion about these language learning problems, like time management... I'd like to have some tips or suggestions for a group mod since I haven't done this before.
Feel free to post any useful links and fun pictures or videos, if they don't violate the group rules! If you want to start learning, now's the time :)
Thanks, and we'll see again in a couple of weeks (latest).

I wrote something in a few G+ groups about conlangs, Elvish languages, and Tolkien. I've got likes and a couple of comments from people but I'm not sure why we didn't get more members.
I don't have a tumblr account. My friends on fb wouldn't probably be interested. Weheartit might work but I feel it largely consists of teens who wouldn't understand the real goal of this group. What about Instagram? Any ideas how that could be used to find members?
Somehow we need to find those that would be interested and let them know about this group. One disadvantage here is that they must be a GR user.

Luckily goodreads is quite a popular site–I imagine some Tolkien fans are using it as well! Fingers crossed

Thank you so much! I'll try it on Ig :)

I posted a picture from this group's homepage to Instagram, including tags that might help someone find it and a link to the group. Anyone willing to do the same, you're free to do it anywhere you think would be good.
What would y'all want right now? I was going to make a poll about something but I didn't really know what to ask. So first I'm questioning you here to know what you'd be interested in. Should we wait for more members to come and then start something together?
The leaves are slowly turning from green to orange and yellow, it seems that it rains every day, the nights have become dark. Rowan berries can be seen in the trees, it's not that warm any more. My school has also started and I'm getting ready for the finals this year.
What does this all mean? Summer is passing away letting a new season in. It is time for autumn.
I thought this would be the perfect time to analyze "Namárië", probably the best known poem in Quenya. It is also called Galadriel's Lament.
Why this one? I don't know everything it's about (although I've read it before) but the first words tell how the golden leaves are falling, describing lasselanta which is literally the falling of leaves, or autumn.
I'd like you to share any ideas concerning this. How should we discuss the poem together? When will we start? Or does this not sound like a good idea to you? Please let me and the others know.
As I already mentioned, I'm busy studying but I'll make time for this if you're willing to join me.
I wish you all a very happy and healthy autumn full of joy and surprises! ^_^
P.S. Sorry for not writing in Quenya... My skills are not even decent to try that yet!

Hey, my dear Quenya Learners!
I wish someone could become another moderator so that I wouldn't have all the responsibility to myself (which still hasn't lead to much magnifigency).
Is there somebody who'd be interested, and willing to help our group grow?
Please reply asap!!
Thanks! ^^

Hi Maria, and welcome to our group!
Unfortunately I can't give you a good answer to that question. Moderating is basically about everything that makes a group work and keeps things in place.
Here's a link with some tips for moderators: https://www.goodreads.com/group/moder...

I see I didn't write that as a reply for you... Look at my previous comment.
