Hello everyone,
Just wondering what's your reading progress of Billy Liar? :-D

Sara (scody) | 53 comments Reading has been slow for me this week due to work demands (I've barely had time to read anything -- horrors!) but I did finish through ch. 3 last night and will post tonight as discussion leader when I get home from the office tonight (I'm posting from work on Friday afternoon as I write).

I'm reading it on my Kindle, and I'm also finding that I feel much less engaged in the text on an e-reader. (This study seems to suggest that I'm not alone in that!) Hopefully I'll be able to focus on it more soon.

Susie I have just started it...my first group read with this group...looking forward to it!

Jenny Garland (jennygarland) | 37 comments I've just started Chapter Four.....really enjoying reading this novel again and I can see why it was such a favourite of David's.....his aspirations must have been similar to Billy's at some point but he realised them.....big time. Also David's father was born in Yorkshire.....in Doncaster I believe so maybe he sometimes would speak the dialect to his son.

Nigeyb By complete coincidence I have just finished this book. In fact it was through this book that I discovered this group.

I’ve been meaning to read Billy Liar for many years. The 1963 John Schlesinger film adaptation with Tom Courtenay and Julie Christie is a firm favourite and remains etched into my memory. The 2013 Valancourt Books reissue - complete with the lovely, original jacket art - gave me the final push I needed...
