Veronica (readingonthefly) | 1631 comments Great job getting caught up with four series. That's huge!

I have the Knight and Moon book on my TBR shelf. I guess you got an ARC?

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 1631 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?

I only got up to date on one series, Borrowing Death (Charlotte Brody Mysteries, #2) by Cathy Pegau , unfortunately I'm not sure I'll be continuing on with it.

I got caught up with the Charley Davidson series for all of five minutes The Dirt on Ninth Grave (Charley Davidson, #9) by Darynda Jones ...then the 10th book released so I'm back to being a book behind.

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?

I started seven new series in June.

I'll be continuing on with three of them: The Innocent (Will Robie, #1) by David Baldacci Age of Myth (The Legends of the First Empire #1) by Michael J. Sullivan Space Captain Smith (Chronicles of Isambard Smith #1) by Toby Frost

I'll not move with two of them, and I'm undecided about the other one.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?

I moved forward one book in five different series: The September Society (Charles Lenox Mysteries, #2) by Charles Finch England Expects by Sara Sheridan The Dirt on Ninth Grave (Charley Davidson, #9) by Darynda Jones Stalking Ivory (Jade del Cameron Mysteries, #2) by Suzanne Arruda Borrowing Death (Charlotte Brody Mysteries, #2) by Cathy Pegau

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

No five stars reads, again. I think I'm too picky, lol, or else it's just hard to impress me anymore. It was all three stars across the board with a couple of two stars and one four star, The Innocent (Will Robie, #1) by David Baldacci .

Oh, I did a re-reads of Ever After (The Hollows, #11) by Kim Harrison (audiobook), #11 in the Hollows/Rachel Morgan series, and Where Shadows Dance (Sebastian St. Cyr, #6) by C.S. Harris ; both are rare five star reads but I didn't really count them since they're re-reads.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?

I ended up having a pretty productive month, reading 17 books, which helped me to complete a 36 book reading challenge in another group.

Viki (vikir) | 814 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
Yes I did get up to date in a series. The To Die Series by Lisa Jackson. So happy about that. The next one comes out sometime in 2017
Deserves To Die (To Die, #6) by Lisa Jackson
2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Did not start any new series this month!
3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
No
4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Deserve to Die was 4/5 star book for me. I just love the series. The suspense is this book was as suspenseful as the others, but it was still really great and couldn't stop reading.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
Pretty good reading. I finished three books. Only one of them was part of series, but I enjoy all the books I read this month.

You've got to be given dispensation for the new series you started because they're so good! Nice progress, too, in your series progression. Based on both your and Veronica's feedback, I'm putting Orphan X on hold.

I only finished seven books in June, but all of the books moved a series forward.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Gone Too Far (Troubleshooters, #6) by Suzanne Brockmann - Great book. Sam & Alyssa finally got together!
Angels Flight (Harry Bosch, #6; Harry Bosch Universe, #6) by Michael Connelly - My favorite Harry Bosch book to date.

5. Overall summary of your reading month? I'm happy I moved forward in seven series. I just wish I had more time to read.

Robin, same thing I said to Viki...congrats on finishing a series and moving forward in seven. That's outstanding for someone with limited reading time.

message 12: by Laura (new)

Laura Real life got in the way of my reading and goodreads time this month, as I only read 6 books. I usually read twice that.
I read Cuff Me (New York's Finest, #3) by Lauren Layne which caught me up in the New York's finest series. This is my favorite of the series. I started the Legal Briefs series, read Overruled (The Legal Briefs, #1) by Emma Chase Appealed (The Legal Briefs, #3) by Emma Chase Sustained (The Legal Briefs, #2) by Emma Chase all 5 star reads. I have one novella left in that series. It is so great.
I also started Laura Kaye's new series reading book 1 Ride Hard (Raven Riders, #1) by Laura Kaye . I will continue.
I read The Baller A Down and Dirty Football Novel by Vi Keeland . That was a standalone, but another 5 star read. I loved it.
I wasn't very productive in quantity, but I loved all of the books I did have time for.

We are so tough on ourselves about quantity of reading:) Looks like the quality was off the charts! Plus, you read 6 books and finished a series (that novella was a last minute add-on by the author). Looks like a great reading month to me.

1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
Yes, I completed 1 and got up to date in 4 series: K-9 Rescue by D. D. Ayres, Lost and Found, Inc. by Jerrie Alexander, The Guardians Trilogy by Nora Roberts, Wilde Security by Tonya Burrows, and (completed) Thunder Point by Robyn Carr.

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started 2 new series, Unbreak My Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn and WJM by Amelia LeFay. Jury's still out on the first one but I'm definitely continuing the second.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I moved forward in 7 series: Colorado Mountain by Kristen Ashley, Sebastian St. Cyr by C. S. Harris, Harry Bosch by Michael Connelly, Maggie O'Dell by Alex Kava, I-Team by Pamela Clare, David Lloyd Investigations by Liz Strange, and The Hollows by Kim Harrison.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
I loved The Light Between Oceans, which is still haunting me. Extraordinary characterizations and settings that are so well developed they're essential aspects of the story. Where Shadows Dance was everything I'd hoped for and more as the Sebastian St. Cyr series continues to be one I can't wait to read each month. Skin Deep is a standout as a novella that pulls off character development and storytelling like a big book. Lastly, Breathe is another winner in the Colorado Mountain series. I'm seriously addicted.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I had a really good month in terms of reading experience and this challenge. The series group reads guarantee that I move forward in at least four each month so I'm loving them. Top that off with the accompanying book discussions and I'm in reading heaven.

The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman Where Shadows Dance (Sebastian St. Cyr, #6) by C.S. Harris Skin Deep (I-Team, #5.5) by Pamela Clare Breathe (Colorado Mountain, #4) by Kristen Ashley

Laura Thanks Jonetta, you give good pep talks by the way, to me and everyone else. They are appreciated!
You had a fantastic month WoW!! There are many series you are reading that sound great.
I am impressed at how you and others can keep up with group reads. I cannot, but I have good intentions. One a month shouldn't be hard but for some reason it is for me.

Thanks, Laura. I just truly see what each of you is accomplishing every month. Love celebrating your victories, large and small.

I keep up with the group reads primarily because I'm enjoying the stories. Only one is falling flat but I can't wait to read the other three every month.

Oh don't worry Laura you are not the only one. I think I am just such a mood reader and cannot rigidly stick to one book a month for a series. I wish I could!

Tracey (trakka) | 1363 comments I forgot to post my update! Oops

1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
Yes yes yes!!!! 1 series - 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith. I am sure he will write more in the series so it will only be short lived.

Yep, just looked and book 11 has popped up. Not published in the UK until 4/8/16 so still claiming it.

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Yes I started the Jack McEvoy series by Michael Connelly to fit in with the Harry Bosch series. I will probably read The Scarecrow eventually but Harry Bosch will take priority.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
5 series:
1. Simon Serrailler by Susan Hill
2. Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews
3. Gaslight Mysteries by Victoria Thompson
4. In Death by J D Robb
5. Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews. I really can see what everyone raves about. I love the characters and everything is starting to take shape now.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
Not my best month in terms of numbers but I am OK with that. I caught up on a series, progressed 5 series that I wanted to progress and had a 5 star book.

You said it best in your overall summary! I think you had a really good month, too. And, I think your one new series start is questionable in being considered a new series...it's part of the Harry Bosch Universe series, which were now following.

Kate Daniels is such a consistent series. Need to get back to it.
