Conspiracies have been rife for years about what CERN are actually doing, but things have just got a lot stranger and a lot more real.

On 24th June, on the same day as an experiment at CERN called 'Awake', photographs of very strange clouds/lightning/energy over CERN were taken. Far from being confined to the nuthouses of YouTube, major newspapers took up the story and the images seem to be completely genuine.

As the Daily Express says: "What is CERN doing? Bizarre clouds over Large Hadron Collider 'prove' portals are opening.
NEW images of bizarre cloud formations above the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) could be shock proof the world's biggest experiment is about to tear open a portal to another dimension."

Plenty of whistleblower physicists are also claiming that CERN is making portals into other dimensions and such stuff.

I think we should add to this the L.U.C.I.F.E.R. telescope owned (in Arizona) by none other than the Vatican and pair it with the very interesting video feed from NASA that cut off just as a UFO was breaking the outer limb of earth's atmosphere. It was a link on DrudgeReport today -- and there was an even more interesting video linked in there from around (I think?) Christmas time.

So yeah, why not portals? Wormholes? Thanks for the links, I hadn't seen the clouds yet!

Do you think the photos and video are fakes? Obviously we can never be 100% sure about images, but those photos seem to be genuine from the tests that have been performed on them, which is why it's had such mass media coverage, unlike the everyday bullshit vids/images you find on YouTube.

But first off, I've only recently become aware of the popular internet meme: The Mandela Effect.

Wikipedia says: "The Mandela Effect is a concept associated with Fiona Broome. It describes the situation where a number of people have memories that are different to available evidence. Broom says the name comes from several people having memories of Nelson Mandela dying in prison back in the 1980s, rather in than 2013. She argues that common memories which appear mistaken could be explained by the existence of parallel universes that are able to interact with each other."

And it's become a popular theory that there are time travellers who could be creating alternative timelines, yet some people still remember things from the previous timeline they were on.

That sort of concept isn't new to me, but The Mandela Effect itself is, and it's astounding how popular the theory is and how so many people seem to have false memories.

Incidentally, I have a friend who told me she and her brother remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison and they were both astounded when he died in 2013. She told me that a couple of years ago, long before I'd heard that it was a shared phenomenon (and she herself didn't know it was) and I just shrugged it off at the time - as you would!

The rational explanation for The Mandela Effect is Confabulation. As Wikipedia states: "In psychiatry, confabulation is a memory disturbance, defined as the production of fabricated, distorted or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world, without the conscious intention to deceive."

Now then, I've remained completely sceptical about The Mandela Effect. It's not like I don't believe such distorted timelines could be a reality, but I'm not going to believe in such a thing based on wild speculation.

Here's where it gets stranger. There have been many wild theories about what CERN are actually doing, and more often than not they are just completely speculative, so when I heard of the idea that CERN was responsible for changing timelines a la The Mandela Effect, I shrugged my shoulders once again.

That was before I heard about/saw this image from one of CERN's videos (a 'We Are Happy At CERN' music video that the employees of CERN made): https://i.ytimg.com/vi/sHdbQjESSMk/ma...

In it, we have a CERN scientist with two signs around his neck. One says 'Bond #1'. The other says 'Mandela'.

But that's just the beginning. This video shows just how much is encrypted in that image and in the CERN video as a whole and it comes up with some really remarkable observations.

The claim is that the image and video are purposely encrypted with information to be worked out - and, boy, does this video I'm about to link work it out!

Hidden symbolism and related things will be hard to digest for anyone who's new to this sort of thing, but I recommend everyone watches this video.

(On a personal note, I have my own way of seeing hidden symbology and I've spotted a fair few things in that image which others haven't. Those observations are nowhere near as important as the stuff that has already been found, but I might get my own video up sometime).

But in 2009, Sergio Bertolucci, Director for Research and Scientific Computing at CERN told reporters:

"Out of this (other dimension) door might come something, or we might send something through it."

The pictures of CERN with the eerie clouds above it are supposedly untouched by any photo-editing software or other modifications.

I bet we'd be surprised by their experiments.

I don't buy into all the connections that vid makes (like you said James, it's bent towards a Christian perspective), but there are some interesting observations in it, and it's definitely worth watching CERN's own promo and arts vids to see just how much hidden symbology is contained in them...

An interesting move, James. Now if the standard model is right, this is a complete waste of money. On the other hand, if they find something new, everyone else has egg on face. So, will they find something????

No idea, Ian. What's your assessment of CERN itself? What are they actually doing there?

Actually, James, from what I can make out they seem to spend an awful lot of time repairing and maintaining it. They are spending a lot of time when it is running trying to work out what the decay products are of this alleged Higgs boson are, but as far as I can make out, when they scan higher energies, so far they have found nothing of fresh interest. Perhaps the nothing is interesting. There were supposed to be a family of new particles coming from "supersymmetry", but these have steadfastly refused to appear.

I had gathered that supersymmetry has been all but ruled out at this point.

Plans! Anyone got a spare $40 - 100 billion dollars for something that ism odds on to find nothing? At least we have no reason to believe anything new will be there. Of course, you will have something for a number of particle physicists to play with.

Sometimes when it's reported they find "nothing" they really found something big, but decided to keep a secret. Not saying that's necessarily happening with CERN, but we must never forget mainstream/official/acknowledged science is only a certain percentage of mankind's science i.e. a certain percentage of scientific discoveries are kept a secret/classified.

I am reasonably confident that since they need an excuse to gull anther $100 b or so of tax-payer money, and prosp[ects for getting it are not bright, they won't have undisclosed triumphs :-)

You mean you think a hundred guys would throw away a cosy future and exchange it for unemployment and no immediate prospect of changing that status (thy are rather specialised) just to keep a measurement secret? For what reason? Maybe I am unimaginative, but i can't see someone not spilling the beans.

When you consider factual conspiracies throughout recent history which were successfully covered up for decades before eventually being proven to be true by outsiders (e.g. Operation Paperclip, MK-Ultra, The Gulf of Tonkin, Tuskegee etc etc), that old argument that says "somebody would surely talk!" doesn't fly. It's remarkable how watertight such high-level secret or classified projects can be, including classified science.

I've got no opinion on CERN, could just be money wasting as you say. It's more a general comment I'm making.

Things like Operation Paperclip tended to be kept quiet because there was a big personal disincentive to talk. Here it is career-ending to keep it quiet. I am just thinking who benefits
