It is time to nominate the theme for the next group read, September 15-November 14.
The theme can be anything, for example a particular tale or myth, a geographical area, a mythical being, a culture, an idea, basically anything as long as books can be found for it!
Some group read themes we have had in the past were:
Water ( Mermaids, Selkies and other water creatures)
First Nations/Native American
Asia ( Folklore and Mythology of Asia)
Unicorns
Animal Transformations
And more!

Our current group read theme is Dragons. It goes on until July 14.
Here are the links to the various discussions:

If you nominated a theme that did not win in the past, you can always nominate it again!

I will re-nominate the Fae or Faeries as a theme.

It is about time for that one to win. I will second your theme.

I like the Fae idea too!

Mary Catelli | 1135 comments I presume that if we all agree we can skip the poll? 0:)

Normally, I'd come up with something just to add a bit more variety to the poll, but who am I to disagree with unanimity?

(However, if anyone does have a topic they'd like to read about, please speak up and nominate!)

It's been nominated so many times, I think we're all just on the same page now!

Jane | 5 comments The fae sounds great as a theme.

Last call! I'll give it another day, just in case.

I'm with everyone else this time around: "Fae or Faeries". :)

Monica Davis No point in suggesting anything else, but I would like to see a Fae tie-in to Samhain at that ime of the year.

BTW, the topic title has the read from Sept 14 - Oct 14, but doesn't it extend until Nov 14?

That would be interesting.

Welcome back Leah! When Dragons were nominated for the theme last month I thought of you!

Yes that would be interesting. Maybe we can have a special read around Samhaim?

I was sad when I saw I missed noms for that, and probably won't be able to join in before the next theme, but at least our group discussions don't expire/close, so I can chime in when I'm able to get to them.

I won't be able to get to it in time, either -- I have the A Natural History of Dragons from the library, but it's due back before will have a chance to read it. So maybe we can have a latecomer discussion on the thread later. :)

It's never to late to join in on any of the discussions here!
