Book setting??

First off, I loved this book but the author never told us the setting. Just curious what other people thought. I pictured Sydney, Australia since the author is from Australia.

I got the impression that the locale was purposefully vague so that it could come across as being any office in any city - So not to pigeon-hole the locale as a city in the author's home country of Austalia.

Same here. I just started it but there is no mention of where they are. Kind of annoying.

I got the impression it was the US but the term they used for resume (can't remember what they called it) was not anything some one in the US would use.

So to answer your question I don't really know LOL

I think they used the term "CV" in the book. People use resume and CV interchangeably in the US, but I think CVs are used more often in academia.

I also got the impression it was either in the US or UK, but the author lives in Australia so this may be wrong.

I am fairly certain it is set in Houston, Texas. They mention having to drive to Fort Worth for the wedding which is over 4 hours from where they are. Houston is roughly that distance and makes the most sense for the story.

Update: As mentioned below it turns out it says "Port" not "Fort" Worth. Haha so I'm guessing she left the setting ambiguous on purpose!

T. Rosado The audio must have been good since you've already re-listened. I'm a picky audio book listener, but I loved this book so much that I want the audio v ...more

I found the lack of setting annoying too. Added to the general blandness of this title after a most promising start.
