Hello and welcome to our September discussion! Thank you for joining us on our new online book club platform! This month, we will be reading and discussing Look at You Now: My Journey from Shame to Strength by Liz Pryor. In Look at You Now, Liz breaks her silence on a long-kept secret: in 1979, at 17 years old, she became pregnant and was sent away by her family to a government-run facility for pregnant teens. This coming-of-age memoir is the story of how Liz’s privileged life changed forever as she found herself in a strange new home, made new and unlikely friendships, and learned to overcome her shame.

Today, Liz Pryor is a successful author, speaker, and an expert on parenting and life advice. Her first book, What Did I Do Wrong, is also available here at the Library. She won a contest against 15,000 hopefuls to become Good Morning America’s “life advice guru”.

In order to get to know Liz Pryor and get a better sense of what this book is all about, I’ve attached a video of Liz discussing her book on a Kansas City news network: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UxL4...

Look at You Now is available from the Library in several different formats, all of which are accessible at the following link: http://goo.gl/epG6OC

I hope you enjoy the book, and I look forward to chatting about it with you. Please feel free to respond to my questions, or to post your own thoughts! Have a great long weekend, book club members!
