Audible put up some examples of bumbling detectives. I'm not sure about their examples. I never thought Amelia Peabody or Erast Fandorin as bumbling. What do you think of the list? Agree or disagree? Any additions?

Mrs.Jeffries' inspector is one of the best men in the world. We should all be so caring and compassionate, whether he is slightly bumbling or not. I've read all the Mrs. Jeffries and love the stories.
Hmm, I must try one of these books. I like to laugh.
I am very interested in this list. Imperfection is fun. I loved Columbo the king of bumbling detectives. But he was always dumb like a fox!
The important thing to realize about Columbo (which the bad guys never realized) was that he only had the APPEARANCE of being bumbling. As Sherry said, he was dumb like a fox and brilliant at making you believe that until it was too late and he had you in jail.

I don't think Burglars can't be choosers really belongs. Funny books but not bumbling.
