I'm excited for The Blood Mirror too!

message 8: by Dani (new)

Dani | 577 comments My main reads for this month are my buddy read with Angela (and others?) of Gardens of the Moon and Theft of Swords.

Also, somewhere later this month or the next I'll have buddy read with Daniel of Last Argument of Kings.

message 9: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Millard | 30 comments My only real goal this month is to finish The Republic of Thieves. I've been so absent from Goodreads and I know it. Locke and Jean have been my escape from a bustling daily life lately.

I'm thinking it may be time for another go at Tolkien after this.

Hashim (hashimaban) | 11 comments Well John I'm currently reading Deadhouse Gates, but judging by the pace I'm reading at, you'll probably catch up with me in November :P

I love that series too Elizabeth. Although I have yet to read the last book. I'm a serial put off reading the last book person it seems when I do up series lists of books I've read.

message 17: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) | 1229 comments I've made a shelf just for series I've started. Trying to read those before I start new series. Not always successful....though when I made that goal I had probably close to 20 unfinished series down to like 7, most of which the next book isn't out yet.

message 18: by RG (new)

RG The Long War quartet by Aj Smith..on the last book...The World Raven

I recently read Neverwhere and The Night Circus. Loved them both.
Anyone else who has read either of these, what sub-genre might you label them as?

I loved the night Circus. I listened to them on audio. Hmm how would I sub categorize? Circus fantasy? Atmospheric Fantasy? It's hard to describe that one, it's such a rich novel

Yeah, I honestly would categorize it as Magic Realism if I had to, but I know a lot of people don't like that term..

RG Im currently reading Fools Gold-Dragon Lords. Im finding it to be a little too comedic. Seems like a comedy crime novel set in a fantasy world. Has anyone else read it or started it?

message 23: by Trista (new)

Trista Wilson I'm currently reading stones of tears by terry Goodkind. Husband's cousin has been harping on me to read this series. Wizard's first rule was pretty good. Around the decent gray area of life. Wouldn't break my back to read it, just hope it gets better. I'm having a reading slump on this one.

Reading slumps are the worst. :(

message 25: by Trista (new)

Trista Wilson Yeah. It seems to either be read for hours non stop for weeks on in or a stalemate for a few weeks with me. Never a good medium. Lol

I have that - I'll slowly read two or three books at a time and then all of the sudden I'll want to finish all of them within two days of each other. Then I'll go back to not reading for a bit or reading at a snail's pace.
