I really hated this book!

"Still Missing" by Chevy Stevens. And now I see she has a new one out, which I wouldn't read if you paid me. To tell you why I hated it would give away too much of the plot to those of you lucky enough not to have read it.

Then I'm your polar opposite, I loved this book! Chevy Stevens is a compelling writer.

I enjoyed this book, and because of it, I have read all her books that I could find to read, I think she is a wonderful writer.

I like the book, because man this happen!!!!! your family or someone next to you could do that!!! and poor her!!!at least she has someone to be with her and understand her.

Do you know books with similar plot?

Her books are Still Watching, Never Knowing, Always Watching and That Night, in that order. I thought they were all great with 'Always Watching' being my least favourite and her most recent 'That Night' being my favourite.

I love Chevy Stevens books. I found Still Missing to be excellent and her newest (That Night) even better. Always interesting to hear other peoples takes on different books :)

The story could have done without what happened during the abduction. The real story is why she was abducted.

I really enjoyed it. It was my first book of hers and I intend to read more. To each their own I guess. There are people who think Harry Potter is terrible too. Not every book is going to be liked by everyone.

Didn't she have an editor? Someone? Anyone? to tell her that the first part of the book had some merit (if simplistically written). When I got to the part where she was back home and trying to lead a normal life, I thought it was okay -- not good, but not awful. Then -- bang -- the stupidest most ridiculous plot twist ever (and again, very simplistic writing). I can't believe that no one said to the author 'hey, this is ridiculous, unbelievable, stupid, just plain dumb'. Isn't that an editor's job? Keep the writer on track? So as bad as the author is, I'd give even fewer stars to the editor (or maybe there wasn't one!)

Awful book.

Way too creepy for me!

Interesting topic-really bad writing. Wow! I can't believe anyone liked it...

I liked it a lot. I just found some of the parts difficult to read because the way she described the scenes were so realistic.

I can't believe some people hate this book! It was amazing! I have all of Chevy's books, and I'm waiting for the next one, out this month. Wow! I never thought anyone would not love them.

I didn't like it either, for a few reasons that I explained in my review but have forgotten a bit by now since I read the book a while ago. I did think it was obvious that this was Stevens's debut novel; the effort was amateurish. The turn of events toward the end is particularly absurd. One niggling irritation for me, as I recall, is the narrator's use of "Doc" throughout. That grated so much that I think Stevens should have told the story from a different angle solely to avoid it.

I gave it a 3 but didn't enjoy it, hate would be to strong. I would say a compelling author as I remember exactly why I hated it with details and that is saying something for the author. I had a debate on my blog about it. I think she has released 2 more since. Chevy has an imagination that's for sure.

Oh wow, I really liked it!! Reviews were bad but I was into it the whole time. hmmm

It definitely was not what I expected it to be. I thought, going into book that it was going to be more realistic but once I reframed my perspective it was just okay for me. It wasn't not the worst book I've ever read.

I must admit, I have read worse...
It got a 2 star rating from me because of the resolution of the story. Too weird for my liking!
But I am quite impressed with myself that I can still remember it so clearly although I have read it about two years ago. I cannot say this about a lot of books I have read in that year...
