When do we learn what happened to Cattie-bries first mom? I keep seeing people say she died in child birth, but where do we actually learn that? Can't find a reference anywhere.

Having read all 30 of the Legend of Drizzt books, this issue has never been addressed. The only interaction with get to see with Catti-Brie's "mom" is when she is growing up as Ruqiah.

It does state her parents were killed when she was very young. That is how she ended up with Bruneor

We never really know what happened. Just that her parents died in a raid when she was very young, too young to remember them. She was raised by Dwarves and Bruneor is the only father she knows!
