Finished my 12th log, and i'm especially proud because it's the first one I've done in a while that didn't contain one or more Abandoned series. This puts me at 22 open series at year end (a drastic difference from the 129 at the end of last year).

Abandoned: Dragon Champion [4/6] - E.E. Knight. About 5 pages in, it because abundantly clear that I'm just not interested in seeing where things go in this series. I wish the final book had been released sooner because I may not have lost my gusto had I not been forced to wait.

This is why I'm excited for my progress with unfinished series - the fewer I have to split my attention between, the more likely it is that I'll get around to sequels in a timely enough manner to still care about reading them. This series is one of a few dozen that got let go even though I liked them because they weren't quite good enough to reread to get to the latter unread books.

I just got through saying yesterday how pleased I was I hadn't abandoned anything in a while. Oh well.

2017 End of Year Update:

Some interesting stats (to me, anyway), regarding the 22 series I started in 2017:

Still Open: 6
DNF: 3
UTD: 10
Finished: 3

So even thought I started a bunch of series in 2017, I managed to either see most of them through to the end/to UTD or abandoned them outright. The idea that I'm only taking 6 new series into my 2018 challenge is a happy one. Two of which I started in December.

Overall, an amazing year of progress that has completely revolutionized my reading experience and given me the system I need to get the most enjoyment out of the things I'm reading. Thank you, FBR, for the motivation and inspiration to meet my goals! :)

Apparently the user runs an Etsy store... the books aren't cheap... and limited quantity... seems like she makes one, lists it in her store, and it eventually sells... there's a necklace version for $42... the Extra Large dragon book with 3 eyes is $290 tho...

I'm currently sitting at 15 open series. I've had ample opportunity to start a few more (I've earned a ton of credits with the 5 for 1 challenge), but every time I pick one up, I put it down in favor of continuing series already in progress. It seems like my progress is DRAGGING right now because I have so many with 10+ book I'm trying to round out. I've kind of backed myself into a corner where I don't feel okay diving into something new until I meet my goals. I really don't do anything halfway. :)
