Abandoned [May Reinstate]:

Unfinished Series (Abandoned):
Abandon [1] - one of the worst books I've ever read
Acorna: The Unicorn Girl [1] – my BF says I'll hate it ;P

Ashlords [1] - It was pretty good.
The Bad Beginning [3] - not my cup of tea
Bazil Broketail [1] - I have to admit to myself that the grubby second-hand copies of these will never get read by this germaphobe. If it ever becomes available in ebook, I'll reconsider.

The Cruel Stars [1] - unartfully profane, and it didn't really go anywhere...
Daisy's Run [1] I didn't like the main character.

The Wizard Lord [1] – took too long to get going
Written in Red [2] - SO MANY ISSUES. Such a shame because I loved the concept.
The Young Elites [2/3] - I was reading this more because I felt I should like it, rather than because I was actually enjoying it.
You Sexy Thing [1] - Meh
Zenn Scarlett [1/2] - I'll never get back to it. I liked it though.
Total: 127
Some that I abandoned were actually good books, I just know I'll never get around to continuing them.
Abandon [1] - one of the worst books I've ever read
Acorna: The Unicorn Girl [1] – my BF says I'll hate it ;P
After the End [1/2] - I probably would have finished had the second one been available immediately. Now I don't care
The Angel Experiment [3] - I was happy with just the trilogy. I'd have to reread anyway.
Anya and the Dragon - So cute! It's just a little too young for my current tastes.
The Best Thing You Can Steal [1] - stupid book. No heist payoff.
The Betrothed [1] - I just can't
Blood Engines [8/10] - the author crapped on everything that was keeping me reading.
Broken Forest [1] - This one cured me of random ARC requesting
The Cat Who Could Read Backwards [1/Too Many] - Eventually, I'll pull this out of DNF
The Cerulean [1] - Not a lot of substance.
City of Bones [3] It was okay... I'll never read on
A Court of Thorns and Roses [1] - illogical decision making drives me insane
City of Lies [1] not enough substance... I think it could have been told in 50 excellent pages. It was a struggle to finish.
The Cruel Stars [1] - unartfully profane, and it didn't really go anywhere...
Daisy's Run [1] I didn't like the main character.
Dancing with the Devil [1] Keri is now one of my favs, but this earlier work had a lot of issues
The Dargonesti [1] - entertaining, but I'll never find time to continue
Dark Lover [3] - I tried, but it was too cheesy
Daughter of Smoke & Bone [1/3] - I liked the first one a lot. Don't know why I don't care to read on...
Little White Lies [1] - Not enough substance.
Death Sworn [1] - meh
Defy [2] - Okay series, nothing's compelling me to keep going
Disappearing Nightly [1] - I never intended to read this one as a series.
Doors of Sleep [1] - Too ridiculous/convenient
Dragon Bones [1] - I DNF #2. I was bored. SAD!!
Dragon's Blood [3] - HATED book 3. Don't care anymore now.
Dragon Champion [4] - read all that was published at the time, now I just don't care anymore.
The Dragons of Dorcastle [1] - Prime example of telling vs showing.
The Dragon's Path [1] - Love this author, was bored with this book.
DragonSpell [1] - Allegory... yuck.
The Drowning City [1] - Thin characters and boring
The Eighth Day [1] - I'm not a fan of Arthurian lore
Ender's Game [1/5] - People have warned me off due to a quality decline. Also, I proudly support the LGBT community.
Eon: Dragoneye Reborn [1] - I remember nothing
Falling Kingdoms [1] - SO MANY ISSUES. I wrote a long review for this one
False Memory [2] - It got too convoluted for me
Fantasy Lover [1] - Read a bunch I liked better
The Final Six [1] - Nothing new... meh
Firstlife [1] - It was just too bloody weird
Foreigner [1] - poor plot construction
Geist [1/3] - DNF, but somehow itching to try it again eventually
Gifts [1] - In which I discovered I don't like circular storytelling
Gilded [1] - The Heroine made too many harebrained decisions
The Goblin Emperor [1] - didn't like it enough to continue (and it's supposed to be a stand-alone.
Goddess of the Sea [1] - This was a stupid book
The Goose Girl [1] - Felt good as a standalone. Never meant to continue.
Grave Mercy [1/3] - didn't like it enough to switch characters in book 2
Green Rider [1] - I'm very sad I didn't like this book. It was just okay.
Guardians of the West [1] – these characters were whiny! And nothing happened!
Guilty Pleasures [10] - I just don't see myself going back to it. Not with the intent of finishing, anyway.
The Gunslinger [1.5] - While I appreciate King's brilliance, this one wasn't for me
Heart of the Dragon [2/3] - meh, it was cute
Honor Among Thieves - it didn't live up to its potential.
How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf [1/3] - Delightful, but I'm not focusing on it as a series if I ever go back to it
Hyperion [1] - I'll happily keep reading if a free audio ever becomes available.
The 100 [1] – I'll just watch the TV show
The Ill-Made Mute [1] - boring
Inkheart [1] - an opportunity wasted
Ivory and Bone [2] - I think I've gotten everything out of this series as I'm going to.
The Kagonesti [1] - Too many other things I want to read more
King of Ashes [1] - No.
The Kingdom of Liars [1] - too much illogical decision-making and a random plot.
Kiss of Fire [1] - Too cheesy
Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo [2] - I just didn't like it.
The Lord of the Rings [1] - what can I say? I love the movies.
The Magician's Nephew [1] - too religious haha
Magyk [1] - It was cute, but way to young for my current preferences. I wish I'd read it as a child.
Marked [8] – I can't believe I made it to book 8.
The Maze Runner [2] – Got tired of no answers
A Memory Called Empire [1] - Lacked too much
Midnight Thief [1] - Didn't like the twist of the first one, and an audio for the second one isn't handy for me to breeze through.
Mirror X [1] – poor plot construction
The Novice [1] – took too long to get going and thin character development
The Omen Machine [1] – Repetitive, redundant, and the most bad writing habits so far
Once Upon a Winter's Night [3/4] - I waited too long and now I can't remember anything.
The Pariah [1] - I just didn't enjoy the type of story.
Perfect Ruin [1/3] - I love love love the Chemical Garden trilogy, but he story for this one didn't grab me.
Polaris Rising [1/1] - space romance... not my genre.
Pure [1.5/3] - of I could've snagged an audio sooner, I'd have finished this one.
Push [2] – too much boy angst, not enough action
Raised by Wolves - Illogical decision-making and no plot.
Red Queen [1] – did not like the 2nd half, too many illogical characters
Red Sister [2/3] - I just don't feel like reading on.
Rule [1/1] - Would have to reread and I didn't like it THAT much
Salvage [1] - I liked the first on, the second one doesn't follow the same character and it's not available at my library.
Scarlet [2] - I really liked these, don't think I'll make time for the final one anytime soon
The Scorpion Rules [1] - don't think I'll read on
Sea Witch [1/5] - I'll probably read more of these, but they're more "related standalones" than series
Seraphina [1/2] - Idk. The first one didn't blow my skirt up.
Shadow and Bone [2] – the heroine made stupid decisions in the first one, the 2nd one bored me
Ship Breaker [1] - it didn't really end… That pissed me off
The Sight [1] - Waaaaaayyyy too long-winded
Sky Jumpers [1] – cute middle grade book, but I'll never get around to reading the 2nd one
Smoke and Stone - Just not my cup of tea.
Song in the Silence [1] - It had a lot of interesting components, but the plot dragged on waaaay to long. I snooped and found spoilers for the end of the series.
The Soprano Sorceress [3 or 4] - I got so bored I couldn't tell you what I actually read
A Spell for Chameleon [1] - was not amused or entertained
Spider's Bite [1] – this author let me down in her mythos Academy series
The Stone in the Skull - too much fluff. No substance. Character confusion.
Sufficiently Advanced Magic [1] - didn't like it enough to continue.
The Sword [4/8] - Don't want to concentrate on it as if it were a series. They're more "mood" reads.
These Broken Stars [1/3] - The first one was just okay. I don't see myself eager for more anytime soon.
Throne of Glass [3] - Too many issues. Lots of things I liked, but don't care to read on.
To the King a Daughter [4/5] - It took so long for me to realize there was more, I'd forgotten everything.
Unclean Spirits [1] - disappointing.
Under the Empyrean Sky [1/3] - read as an arc, don't feel like rereading. It was good though.
Velocity Weapon [1.5/2] - just lost interest.
The Warded Man [2/5] - If I can ever get a free audio copy of this, I'll finish it.
The Warrior Heir [1] – I liked this one, but doubt I'll make time to continue
When the Heavens Fall [2/3] - if he ever publishes the rest of the series, I'll consider it again.
Wild Born [2/7] - I would have adored these as a kid. Maybe I'll try again with when my child is old enough.
The Winner's Curse [2] – the 2nd one had little story and a lot of boy angst
The Wizard Lord [1] – took too long to get going
Written in Red [2] - SO MANY ISSUES. Such a shame because I loved the concept.
The Young Elites [2/3] - I was reading this more because I felt I should like it, rather than because I was actually enjoying it.

I resolved this category, but am keeping it for reference. Series Niki would have to restart so they might as well be marked Unstarted. If I decide to restart any of these series, I have to use a credit from my 5 for 1 challenge.

That is the silver lining for sure. And actually, this year I've already finished a bunch of other series I had outstanding, so at least I know I can do it lol. And that sounds like a great idea – a lot less intimidating for sure!
Welcome to the challenge. Looking forward to seeing your list.
Angela 11/3
Good company of course :).
Niki I didn't like Spider's Bite either. Haha I read the book twice it was so unmemorable that I had picked it up a second time from a bargain bin and while reading it I kept thinking, " I think I've read this before." The further the book went on I realised I had.
I have finally finished inputting all the unfinished titles I could find (I am certain I am missing a few) for a grand total of 96 series...
If you'll excuse me, I need to go find a corner to cry in
Scott - 11/3/2016
Well you don't plan on finishing all 96 so it's not as bad as it seems. Plus you have a lot of up to date series.
The Young Elites I just finished. Books 1 & 2 were excellent. Book three the ending was good but she seemed to run out of steam for the first half of the book and continued already done themes.

Look on the bright side Niki. With the challenge I'm sure you will manage to take a few off your list. Maybe start with a couple of series where you only have one left to read. Although I'm now giving you advice on my own bad trait in that I seem to have a lot of last in series to read.

This is having the opposite effect that I wanted. Now I want to open a bunch of series and be the baddest of the bad. :)
I just went through my "read" shelf and found 40 series I forgot to include. About half of them were abandoned but still...
I seem to like trying new books. It doesn't matter how much I'm enjoying what I'm reading, I'm always eyeballing other titles. At least I'm never bored.

Okay, the final tally is 165 Unfinished Series. 46 of those I've marked Abandoned. That leaves 119 on my TBR (approx. 340 books).
I'm totally setting a blog challenge in 2017. I think it will be fun to do a monthly tracker.

That is so many series Niki. Good luck. I can't wait to see how many series you manage to complete. I belong to another group which is all about completing and getting further in series. Haha my total for 2016 I set myself was 5 series to get up to date and I need to read one more book. As to completed. I finished two series over the whole year.

Thanks Angela! I think I managed to finish 13 series this year, so I'll probably set the same goal for next year for consistency. Honestly, I'm less concerned about finishing series than I am about finishing high priority titles. As long as I can get through a good number of the must-reads, I'll be happy. :-) I imagine I will also be starting a bunch of new ones ha ha. That group sounds really helpful for us hopeless cases lol. Great job on your challenge so far for 2016!

Thanks Niki,

I've heard The Maze Runner isn't really that good.
I liked the first one, but got frustrated when it started going one step forward, two steps back. The movies, oddly, didn't have this problem and I really liked them.

I didn't really like the maze runner either and the whole time I was reading I was thinking it would make a pretty cool movie. Turns out it's one of those rare stories where the movie is actually better.

Thank you – I can't wait to see what I'm able to do in 2017 with finishing series as a concerted effort. :-)
Keep in mind there are a lot of YA books in there. Those things are easier to breeze through. It feels like cheating haha.

Considering I only started 15 series last year, 2017 is starting out with a bang (as in, shoot me, I have too many going on at once). Luckily for me, most of them I could also plunk in the "UTD" category, so there's that. :)
