The Angel Experiment [3] - I was happy with just the trilogy. I'd have to reread anyway.
Anya and the Dragon - So cute! It's just a little too young for my current tastes.

The Bad Beginning [3] - not my cup of tea
Bazil Broketail [1] - I have to admit to myself that the grubby second-hand copies of these will never get read by this germaphobe. If it ever becomes available in ebook, I'll reconsider.
The Best Thing You Can Steal [1] - stupid book. No heist payoff.
The Betrothed [1] - I just can't
Blood Engines [8/10] - the author crapped on everything that was keeping me reading.
Broken Forest [1] - This one cured me of random ARC requesting

Once Upon a Winter's Night [3/4] - I waited too long and now I can't remember anything.

Perfect Ruin [1/3] - I love love love the Chemical Garden trilogy, but he story for this one didn't grab me.
Polaris Rising [1/1] - space romance... not my genre.
Pure [1.5/3] - of I could've snagged an audio sooner, I'd have finished this one.
Push [2] – too much boy angst, not enough action
Raised by Wolves - Illogical decision-making and no plot.
Red Queen [1] – did not like the 2nd half, too many illogical characters

Salvage [1] - I liked the first on, the second one doesn't follow the same character and it's not available at my library.
Scarlet [2] - I really liked these, don't think I'll make time for the final one anytime soon

Sea Witch [1/5] - I'll probably read more of these, but they're more "related standalones" than series
Seraphina [1/2] - Idk. The first one didn't blow my skirt up.
Shadow and Bone [2] – the heroine made stupid decisions in the first one, the 2nd one bored me
Ship Breaker [1] - it didn't really end… That pissed me off
The Sight [1] - Waaaaaayyyy too long-winded
Sky Jumpers [1] – cute middle grade book, but I'll never get around to reading the 2nd one
Smoke and Stone - Just not my cup of tea.
Song in the Silence [1] - It had a lot of interesting components, but the plot dragged on waaaay to long. I snooped and found spoilers for the end of the series.
The Soprano Sorceress [3 or 4] - I got so bored I couldn't tell you what I actually read
A Spell for Chameleon [1] - was not amused or entertained
Spider's Bite [1] – this author let me down in her mythos Academy series
The Stone in the Skull - too much fluff. No substance. Character confusion.
Sufficiently Advanced Magic [1] - didn't like it enough to continue.
The Sword [4/8] - Don't want to concentrate on it as if it were a series. They're more "mood" reads.
These Broken Stars [1/3] - The first one was just okay. I don't see myself eager for more anytime soon.
Throne of Glass [3] - Too many issues. Lots of things I liked, but don't care to read on.
To the King a Daughter [4/5] - It took so long for me to realize there was more, I'd forgotten everything.
Unclean Spirits [1] - disappointing.
Under the Empyrean Sky [1/3] - read as an arc, don't feel like rereading. It was good though.
Velocity Weapon [1.5/2] - just lost interest.
The Warded Man [2/5] - If I can ever get a free audio copy of this, I'll finish it.
The Warrior Heir [1] – I liked this one, but doubt I'll make time to continue
When the Heavens Fall [2/3] - if he ever publishes the rest of the series, I'll consider it again.
Wild Born [2/7] - I would have adored these as a kid. Maybe I'll try again with when my child is old enough.
The Winner's Curse [2] – the 2nd one had little story and a lot of boy angst

Written in Red [2] - SO MANY ISSUES. Such a shame because I loved the concept.

That is the silver lining for sure. And actually, this year I've already finished a bunch of other series I had outstanding, so at least I know I can do it lol. And that sounds like a great idea – a lot less intimidating for sure!

Niki I didn't like Spider's Bite either. Haha I read the book twice it was so unmemorable that I had picked it up a second time from a bargain bin and while reading it I kept thinking, " I think I've read this before." The further the book went on I realised I had.


I have finally finished inputting all the unfinished titles I could find (I am certain I am missing a few) for a grand total of 96 series...

If you'll excuse me, I need to go find a corner to cry in

Well you don't plan on finishing all 96 so it's not as bad as it seems. Plus you have a lot of up to date series.

The Young Elites I just finished. Books 1 & 2 were excellent. Book three the ending was good but she seemed to run out of steam for the first half of the book and continued already done themes.

Look on the bright side Niki. With the challenge I'm sure you will manage to take a few off your list. Maybe start with a couple of series where you only have one left to read. Although I'm now giving you advice on my own bad trait in that I seem to have a lot of last in series to read.

You have me beat on unfinished series but we are very close on books remaining in those series.

This is having the opposite effect that I wanted. Now I want to open a bunch of series and be the baddest of the bad. :)

I just went through my "read" shelf and found 40 series I forgot to include. About half of them were abandoned but still...

I seem to like trying new books. It doesn't matter how much I'm enjoying what I'm reading, I'm always eyeballing other titles. At least I'm never bored.

Okay, the final tally is 165 Unfinished Series. 46 of those I've marked Abandoned. That leaves 119 on my TBR (approx. 340 books).

I'm totally setting a blog challenge in 2017. I think it will be fun to do a monthly tracker.

That is so many series Niki. Good luck. I can't wait to see how many series you manage to complete. I belong to another group which is all about completing and getting further in series. Haha my total for 2016 I set myself was 5 series to get up to date and I need to read one more book. As to completed. I finished two series over the whole year.

Thanks Angela! I think I managed to finish 13 series this year, so I'll probably set the same goal for next year for consistency. Honestly, I'm less concerned about finishing series than I am about finishing high priority titles. As long as I can get through a good number of the must-reads, I'll be happy. :-) I imagine I will also be starting a bunch of new ones ha ha. That group sounds really helpful for us hopeless cases lol. Great job on your challenge so far for 2016!

'the maze runner - got tired of no answers' Be glad you stopped where you did. Last book in the trilogy created more questions and provided a negative amount of answers :l Then I thought surely the prequel would answer SOMETHING... it didn't... :(

I've heard The Maze Runner isn't really that good.

I liked the first one, but got frustrated when it started going one step forward, two steps back. The movies, oddly, didn't have this problem and I really liked them.

I didn't really like the maze runner either and the whole time I was reading I was thinking it would make a pretty cool movie. Turns out it's one of those rare stories where the movie is actually better.
