Susan Im going to pick Snowfall on Haven Point because I love RaeAnne Thayne!!

Harlequin Books (harlequinbooks) | 2388 comments Mod
Snowfall on Haven Point moves to the top of the list! I love RaeAnne Thayne too! LOL I'm using exclamation points way to much but I think that is because I'm so excited my favorite reading season is about to start. I'm worrying my husband every time we watch the weatherman because I'm disappointed he has not said the "S" word yet.

I hope some of you have picked some of the same books as I have and we can have some good discussions. I also encourage everyone to come in here and tell me about the Winter/Christmas themed books you are reading. :) ~ Kim

Yes, they are but I live in Western New York, right in the snow belt of Lake Erie and most are definitely hoping for a mild year. Wonderfully, Harlequin allows me to represent them from home. :) I do love doing the tourist thing to Canada as often as I can. Who wouldn't when you live so close to a national border and have such lovely neighbors. ~ Kim

Freebie Friday is a sale that Harlequin.com has every Friday. Most Fridays, you buy 3 and get 1 free. Several times a year, they have special Fridays where you can buy 2 books and get one free. I can't remember what the sale was last year for Black Friday but they usually do something special for the day. I'm planning on picking out several gifts next week. Thanks to a tip in the What are you reading thread, I know the perfect books to get my aunts.

Blizzard watch! Looks like my first snowfall of the year might be a doozy of a storm. I'm all set! As long as I can shovel out by the 23rd. My daughter surprised me with the news she will be coming home for Thanksgiving after all! I thought it was going to be our first one without her home. First year in college for her, empty nest for us!

Snowfall on Haven Point was the perfect beginning to my Christmas reading marathon! This book would have been perfectly enjoyable without reading any of the Haven Point novels. I haven't read them all but I hope to soon. I did enjoy the scenes with characters from the ones I have read. In Snowfall, Andrea Montgomery feels forced to check up on her neighbor Sheriff Marshall after his sister requests she pop in and make sure he was recovering and didn't need help after surgery on his leg. Marshall has always made Andrea nervous but there was no way she could refuse. She owed Wyn so much. Of course, Marshall didn't particularly want to be taken care of and wasn't the most pleasant person to begin with. However, the two start to form a friendship and Andrea's fear goes away. Andrea's children add a sweet element that is irresistible. Besides his budding friendship with Andrea and her kids, Marshall is trying to deal with who was responsible for the hit-and-run that broke his leg, a matter from his past that he has to face, and his growing attraction for Andrea, who he feels deserves his respect and protection not his kisses.

One of my favorite lines from the book was when Andrea was figuring out that her feelings went deeper than she thought for Marshall:
"The realization didn't tumble over her like a clump of snow falling from a tree branch so much as it whispered in an insistent voice she couldn't ignore."

Don't you just love wintertime similes? I do!

Next up The Earl's Snow-Kissed Proposal!

The Earl's Snow-Kissed Proposal- This book covered some difficult subjects, abuse and bullying. Gabe helps Etta at the same time that she helps him. Both have pasts they would prefer to leave behind them but their pasts drive their present. Also, I now want to visit Vienna at Christmastime. Overall, an enjoyable read with emotional punch. ~ Kim

Well here is a bit more to tempt you.
Hot, sexy and he has a heart of gold. What more do you want from a hero? Major Ben will capture your heart and excite it. Only thing that makes him not perfect is his belief that he isn't long term dating material. Ainsley is perfect for him. To bad her father can't see that. The losers he keeps introducing to her definitely explains why she is not looking for a long-term relationship. It was fun reading how they both learn that with the right person they are very much long-term people. Oh, just a warning, you might want to reach through the pages and smack Ben upside his head when you reach pages in the late 100's but calm down. This is Harlequin. They will get their HEA. Overall, this is a great holiday read that is hot, sexy and perfectly paced. ~ Kim

Now wondering if I can squeeze in one more Christmas title to my TBR.

For my next read, until I get Three Christmas Wishes, I was in the mood for some novellas. I picked Unwrapping The Holidays: Hot Coded Christmas / Be Mine For Christmas.

Jingle all the way! Both novellas score high in Christmas glee. I felt Jamie's pain in regards to her company and felt her attraction to Cole. Their struggles are real. Maya's desserts played a fun role and Ian never had a chance. When her trust is shattered, you'll feel their pain and hopelessness. Hang in there. Christmas is wonderful and so are HEAs.

I knew I would finish this one before I was ready to turn the lights off so I grabbed A Child Under His Tree (Return to the Double C) by Allison Leigh ~ Kim

Mail Order Mommy was an excellent read. The kids were written well. It is one of my pet peeves when the kids don't match their age in the way they are written. Love sneaked into Garrett's heart and helped him with his grief and finding a new future in happiness. ~ Kim

Next I'm reading High Speed Holiday.
