Laurell K Hamilton- The Merry Gentry Series or The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series .. you might or might not like these.
I've read quite a few of the Vampire Series and I'm going to take a break for awhile. I only read two or three of the Merry Gentry but they are super popular too.

I'm so glad you are here Kathrine and you absolutely must give the first three series a peek. I really hope some of them work for you.

I hadn't heard of the Shadow Reader Series! It's now on the 'to read' list.

Thanks Kathrine and again,
Glad you are here,
Melissa

Elizabeth Wheeler | 386 comments Nalini Singh has some really good series. My favorite is the Changling/Psy series. Great characters are put together with really engaging story lines. I have enjoyed every book in the series.

KiBo | 30 comments An exceptional two book series that I recently finished was The Darkest Frost (currently free on Kindle Unlimited). Very original storyline. I highly recommend them.

Jenna | 53 comments The Harper Hall series has a very Charley Davidson feel to it:

Semi-Charmed (Harper Hall Investigations #1) by Isabel Jordan Semi-Human (Harper Hall Investigations, #2) by Isabel Jordan Semi-Twisted by Isabel Jordan

Also, anything by Robyn Peterman is AWESOME

message 6: by Celia (new)

Celia Roman | 6 comments I second Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, and Nalini Singh (either the Psy-Changeling Series or the Guild Hunter Series; I liked both). You may also want to try Marjorie M. Liu's Hunter Kiss Series.

And if you like male protagonists, S.M. Reine's Preternatural Affairs Series is well-written, fast-paced, and a lot of fun. Or that's the way I remember it!

Abby Peralta (abbyperalta) | 15 comments C. L. Wilson's Tairen Soul Series (if you like stories about Faes) Lord of the Fading Lands

Thea Harrison's Elder Races Dragon Bound

G. A. Aiken's Dragon Kin Series (obviously, it's about dragon shifters. I highly recommend this. It's funny and the heroine of the first book is as bad ass as Kate Daniels) Dragon Actually

Celia Roman | 6 comments Have you read Mercedes Lackey's Diana Tregarde Series? I'm about to start re-reading Burning Water (Book 1) right now.

message 14: by LIA (new)

LIA Kh. | 2 comments Nice girls don't have fangs by Molly Harper is nice too. Simple, light reading, mostly romance, a little action, and had funny elements.

And also you may want consider Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kerrelyn Spark, Gena Sholwater lord of underworld), J. R. Ward (black dagger brotherhood), Jennifer L. Armentrout (lux series), Cassandra Clare (the mortal instrumen) though mostly romance, action, and fantasy. But it's a good one.

Harvey McCarthy | 7 comments Blood Reign by Harvey W. McCarthy

Try my book. It is only $1.99 on most e-readers. Might inspire me to write the next volume.

I'm not totally sure what your taste in books is, but you should check out Desni Dantone's Ignited Series. The covers in order are Ignited (Ignited, #1) by Desni Dantone then Sacrificed (Ignited, #2) by Desni Dantone the third is Salvaged Soul (Ignited, #3) by Desni Dantone the fourth and final book is Avenging Heart by Desni Dantone .

message 21: by Mia (new)

Mia McKimmy (goodreadscommia_mckimmy) | 7 comments Seems our taste run close to the same kind of books. I've read all of those, except the Ignited Series. I'll have to give it a try.

Some of my absolute favorites are:
The Charlie Davidson Series, by Darynda Jones.
Rachel Morgan Series by Kim Harrison.
The Dark Hunters Series, by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
The Black Dagger Brotherhood, by JR Ward.
The Argeneau Series, by Lynsay Sands.

There's just too many to list. I hope you find your next great series to read.
