Part 4 & 5: Look, the Truth | Page 151 - The End

Just five words.
OH
MY
GOD
THAT
ENDING
IT HAD SO MANY CLUES THROUGHOUT THE BOOK AND YOU'RE JUST TRYING TO PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER, BUT THEY JUST WON'T FREAKING STICK AND JUST GAH THIS BOOK I HATE IT BUT I LOVE IT IN THE SAME TIME
MIXED FEELINGS FTW WOOH

But that didn't detract away from how much I enjoyed this book! Lockhart's writing style is wonderful and it made for a very enjoyable, intriguing read. Kind of sad it's finished!

There were SO MANY clues!!!

I was shocked with the ending but after I read it, I remember all the clues that were written throughout the book but I never pieced together.
I did enjoy the writing and all the stories that were included in the book and the king/merchant/etc and his three daughters.
Overall, it was an okay read

That was one of the best books I have read. I will definitely reread this bad boy.
When Cady realizes she killed the dogs in the fire, I was thinking that it would be so much more dramatic if a human had died. But they knew about it. Not like it was with the other three Liars.
I was pretty much in tears from shock when I figured out that Gat died. WHY?????
But it was a very good book. I can't wait to see the live show and do this again!

I loved this book. I love the whole concept of the Sinclairs and the house and even though I didn't particularly like Cadence, i liked that her and her faily were oblivious to how normal people live and how Gat opened her eyes to so much.
I just finished the books before it was the booksplosion book and this is the first discussion i have participated in.
I love this book <3

But I blew off these things so the ending blew my head apart into a million little pieces... I wanted to cry, but i was sooo freaking made at Gat!
This was amazing. The end shocked me so much, even though if I reflect on it, I can see all of the clues that pointed to the conclusion. I think that we were all analyzing the clues as if we were analyzing a "typical" YA novel. Many endings are pretty predictable and usually end up being similar throughout, however this book was just so different from ANY book I have ever read. The horrifying truth and all of the plot twists and discoveries have left me emotionally drained. I LOVED all of the characters, and to discover that they were just ghosts, dead human beings... it crushed me. All of the feels. Just terrific. I agree that you should go into this book without knowing anything, otherwise people would be searching for specific clues.

The ending was not as mindblowing for me as it seems to have been for everyone else. I didn't see it coming until about one page beforhand, but it didn't freak me out or surprise me all that much. But then again, this might be because all of the hype that surrounded this book, I was expecting great things and they didn't happen.
The only part I enjoyed were the feelings that were conveyed when she found out what happened. That was truly upsetting.
Otherwise a book that I would not recommend and won't be picking up again.

Apart from that, I really really enjoyed this book. I love books that make me cry and make me connect to the characters.

on. I'm not sure what have me that idea, probably the fact that every time one of the liars left Cady after taking to her, they suddenly seemed to disappear. Since I knew something insane likely happened, it seemed possible with that and how everyone was acting. Plus the liars didn't really interact with anyone else from the family.
The mystery and suspense of the book was awesome and I love the fairytale chapters thrown in there. But for some reason I thought the big accident want as crazy as I thought it was going you be. I didn't like how the ending dragged on after we learn about the fire and she says good bye to the liars. And I thought there was a lack of resolution between her and the rest of the characters at the end. But overall, I thought this was a entertaining book and I loved the suspense.

I think they were called Liars because they told a different story about what happened with the fire (this is just my thought on that little area)

They were called "The Liars" before the incident

I agree. The ending wasn't too sad for me because I couldn't connect nor relate to the characters at all, so I wasn't in tears at their deaths.

But I blew off these things so the ending blew my head ..."
I could never understand either why they were called the Liars. Absolutely zero lying happened before the fire. So why did they have that nickname?

I really enjoyed the fairytale variations they were very creative and unique. Overall I'd probably give it a 4 out of five stars (maybe 3.5) because although it surprised me and and I enjoyed the fairytales the writing style did bother me.

But I have to admit, I didn't see that ending coming. I would have rated it 2 stars if not for the revelation in the end.

Here's my review:

My Goodreads Review

Oh and I was so preparing to rage about this on goodreads when I thought the ~big~ plot twist was that they set the fire. I was like... that's it? I mean that was terrible but I didn't think it deserved so much hype, and then E. Lockhart just dropped that whole oh yeah and everyone died bomb on me and I exploded.

“We are liars. We are beautiful and privileged. We are cracked and broken.”
Wow. I can't tell you anything about the plot of this book, all I can tell you is that you should read it. I had the opportunity to read this book in one sitting, and I feel like that is the best way to do it.. I met these characters, I fell in love with these characters, I got frustrated with these characters. I laughed, cried, and felt angry with these characters, and I got my heart ripped out by these characters.

E. Lockhart unravels a story that you are forced to get lost in, and when she is through with you, you are thankful to have been a part of it.
This ending reminded me of a movie called The Uninvited in several ways, including that I didn't see the end coming, and rather than making me hate Cady, made me feel sorry for her. Just in case you're reading this before finishing the book, I'm not going to explain why as my explanation spoils the ending. RE: the Uninvited, if you liked/loved this book, watch the film. The main story line is different (of course), but the similarities are compelling :D

The ending was rushed and cheesy.

It had a great, unique writing style. Not quite a five star for me, but I think four stars is still a great rating. Would definitely recommend this.

I love the characters too. At first I hated them all and then I just hated the adults. I love all the young ones, though.
I really really enjoyed this. 5 stars.

AMAZING read, loved the writing, the mystery, the creepy factor...not a huge fan of the character of Cady, but still felt for her when she realized her best friends were dead.
5 star read, LOVED it!
That ending...
I've never had such mixed emotions about a book... I CAN'T TELL IF I LIKED IT OR NOT!
