This is about one of the laziest characters ever seen in a Russian novel.

Hmm, even more than Ivan Nikiforovich in The Tale of How Ivan Ivanovich Quarrelled with Ivan Nikiforovich by Gogol? (He is quite funny if you have not read him)

I have not read that one, but I will look for it. I like Gogol's writing.

It's a short story by him, and is quite funny. I have a collection that has that, The Nose, The Overcoat and one other can not remember right now.

I read The Nose and the Overcoat in a collection of Gogol's stories, so I may have read that one too.

Ah. I did think it was quute funny, a quarrel just because of a name said in jest... and the lengths went to for it. It was quite absurd.
