I actually read this last month, and I enjoyed it. I was a bit confused in the beginning - okay, a virus killed off most of the population & many animals...but what's this with the weird weather? As I got into it and it was explained (quite a bit into the book) it made sense.

I love that this is a community of good guys. They all try to work together, playing on each person's strenghts, to survive and continue to live. There are some bad guys out there - but by and large it's just people trying to get by - and that's how I'd like to believe most of us would behave in such a situation.

Any one else read this?

I have just finished reading the first book. I was also confused about the title until I got further into the book and read how bad the weather had become.
