WI 16-17 10.10 Group Reads

Yes, one of the books for this task, but there will also be input from members. We won't know those titles until Kate has finalized the scoring, sent PMs, and received their responses. The number of books for this task varies from season to season, but is usually 10-12. The books are chosen from among those we've read in the previous season.

So you mean that there will be 10-12 books to chose one (or more) from for this task? Is this task in all 4 seasons? (I would guess yes).
I don't know if I will do all of the group reads for the year or not. We don't have to do them all, correct? I ask, because even though it's very popular, I really don't care much for the one Pearl S. Buck novel I've read (twice, but the second time I started it forgetting I'd read it until I got to a scene I'd remembered all these years without remembering which book it was in, plus a couple of other scenes, etc).

Yes, this is the only task that is in every season. The 10.1 Square Peg is in most seasons, but not necessarily all.

Excellent.

Looking for a French book set in a bookstore for CiV? :) I've got one on my shelves that's supposed to be good, though I haven't read it: A Novel Bookstore

No, I'm afraid this one won't help you there. Sorry, Rebekah.
ETA - actually, I've just rechecked the CiV requirements, and you need 50% set in a bookshop (I was thinking 80% when I wrote the sentence above). Some of the book does take place in a bookshop - I still feel that it probably wasn't enough to qualify, and my copy has gone back to the library, but I wanted to flag this up because I am not quite as certain as my first comment implied. So you may want to investigate further.

We don't actually read these as a group. Selecting a "group read" is one of the rewards and is more of a recommendation.
This season:
1. Group Reads -- the Spring 2017 "group reads" books will be chosen by a combination of moderators, mega-finishers, and members that read at least 5 books and earn the highest percentage of Oldies points in the Winter 2016-17 Challenge.

Excellent. I have put a hold on one of them, and there is another that looks interesting.
