Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8422 comments If you keep your TBR on goodreads, can you do me a favor?

Sort by Date Published.... And tell me whether that lists the OLDEST or the NEWEST book first.

I have a challenge in another group where I need to sort my TBR this way and then choose a book ... but I don't keep my TBR on Goodreads, so I need to know how GR does this.

Hope that made sense.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments I do not display the "date published" option on my GR TBR so someone else will have to check for sure for you, but I believe it will do it either way.

For example, if I sort my TBR by the date added, it lists them oldest to newest, but if I hit the arrow again then it sorts them in the reverse order. I assume it would be the same for all categories.

If you want the list for date published you can do it at the bottom of the page and it list newest first, but it isn't without mistakes. I have two books that haven't been released and it list them as the oldest.

annapi | 5505 comments I stopped actually keeping track of my TBR years ago. It's just too unmanageable.

Ladyslott | 1880 comments I keep my TBR in my 'own' shelf. If you add the date published via settings it will not sort until you click on the 'date pub' link. It will sort by date published ascending order. If you click on the little arrow will re-sort into descending order.

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments As Nicole and Ladyslott said once you add it as a setting to show- clicking on "date pub" will sort it by descending, then click it again for ascending order. So you can sort it both ways. In the extended settings when at the bottom there is an "other" section where you can manually choose date published and ascending or descending.

GR is the only place where I track my to be read list. It's messy but it works.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8422 comments Okay ... thanks for that info. Since the directions simply said to "sort by date published" without any other qualifications (in other cases it specifies "Newest to Oldest" or "Z to A") ... I'm going to assume it means the FIRST click. Which is newest on top. That'll make it even easier for me!
