I realise that piracy has been covered in a now-closed thread, which I've read, but members might want to be aware of the site geeker.com, where I found via Google search a book (which I won't name here for fear of being accused of bookwhacking)) available for free download as pdf. The Google search link leads initially to a "storage.googleapis.com" site, clicking on DOWNLOAD PDF leads to ibooklibs.com, then after a few seconds to geeker.com, which then invites sign up for a monthly fee for unlimited downloads.
Obviously I can't safely check if they actually have the book, so it could be a credit card scam, but Geeker seems new and looks very plausible. They have a DMCA notice, so I sent a takedown notice last night. I'm not hopeful of getting a response.
Right. Per the pinned post at the top of the folder, we mods move threads into the resources folder if we see them to be a resource that our members could use. This does not mean the discussion is locked, just that new discussions should be set up in the appropriate folders. But we will keep this thread here seeing as the investigation folder is specifically for keeping a list of suspect sites. Thanks!
