Peter (jimmyshelter) | 82 comments I've seen some posts about Cirsova, Skelos and Grimdark magazine.

I was wondering. Which other magazines are there that publish (mostly) sword & sorcery or related genres?
What's the difference between these magazine? Which one should everyone read, and why?

Well, Peter is actually known as the Beneath Ceaseless Skies guru (for those who follow is reviews). I try to consolidate some info. but I am not the ultimate resource.

Beneath Ceaseless Skies
Publishes frequently (from 2008, up to Issue #216 for Jan 2017) ~ every 2weeks.
Flash/short fiction (3 per issue I think, but Peter can explain better)
Online : http://www.beneath-ceaseless-skies.co...

Heroic Fantasy Quarterly is an ezine dedicated to publishing short works of heroic fantasy. More than that, through both prose and poetry we hope to hearken an older age of storytelling – an age when a story well told enthralled audiences. Traits of great oral storytelling survive the ages to influence treasures of literature, the pulps, radio plays, late-night game sessions, and now Heroic Fantasy Quarterly.

Blackgate: okay, I know the print magazine halted in 2010 (along with most of its short story publications); but the shared blog continues and is a great resource for reviews, news, excerpts. Updates frequently (every few days)

Peter (jimmyshelter) | 82 comments Thanks for the overview, Seth!

Regarding Beneath Ceaseless Skies, their tagline is: 'Literary Adventure Fantasy'.
The focus between the 'literary' and 'adventure' shifts between issues. Some sword & sorcery has been published, but it does not have the focus. Mostly it's modern, progressive fantasy.

Two short stories every issue (after a successful submission drive with a limit of 11.000 words per story). Anniversary issues have 3 or stories. It's free to read on their website, but also in a number of ebook formats (epub, pdf, etc). With a submission you get early access to new issues.

I really like that BCS publishes in ebook formats. I don't like reading from my phone or tablet, which means I tend to skip Heroic Fantasy Quarterly & Swords and Sorcery Magazine even though they publish good content and are free.

Howie | 26 comments Though it is not a magazine, the Swords of Steel series from DMR Books is a paperback anthology of sword and sorcery and weird tales in the grand old pulp tradition. These books are similar to Andrew J. Offutt's Swords Against Darkness series. So far there are two volumes and a third in the works.

Peter (jimmyshelter) | 82 comments I stumbled upon Worlds Without Master online, anyone familiar with them? They accept S&S stories according to their submission guidelines.
