distance and speed in the solar system are measured in astronomical units. one AU is equivalent to the distance between earth and the sun.

distance in the rest of the universe is either in lightyears or parsecs (if it's less than a parsec use lightyears, if it's more than a hundred lightyears use parsecs)

time is measured in earth's time: seconds, minutes, hours, days (60, 60, 24, 1), but for timed things (like races) it can go down to yoctoseconds: everything in this except planck time
