Q&A with Jay Crownover

Would you ever consider writing a different genre, if so which genre appeals to you the most? (For example: paranormal, YA, Fantasy, Historical etc.)

I was wondering what was the last five star book you read? Not including yours cos I know they're all five star.

It just depends on what kind of books you enjoy reading. Rule if you like NA, Bad is you're into darker grittier romance, Retreat if you like suspense, Built if you enjoy contemporary and single dads. I'm all across the board with what I do :)

AS of now anything beyond Salvaged or featuring the next generation is on hold. Or on the back burner. I have ideas...but I'm not committing to anything or adding them on my sch as of yet. I'm ready to do new things...like Retreat and Avenged....as for the Point...Dignity which is Stark and Noe comes out in Oct...and Booker will be out next year in summer I would say...beyond that I'm not sure

I am LOVING Sara Ney right now...her Falling Hours series is 5 star for sure

Lol...By moving into a smaller house....not really. I just realized I am drowning in stuff and was starting to feel weighed down. I've always been a bit of a shopper and this year is the year of saving and being smart with money

You should totally read Retreat...Cy...is one of the few guys who I did have someone in mind when I wrote. Taylor Kinney :) But normally no...I can see who they are in my head pretty clearly without having an actual picture

My first tattoo is a huge devil and angel on my lower back (totally a tramp stamp) I got it when I was 16. My very first boyfriend I had when I was a teenager was very tattooed. I think I just always gravitated towards people, and was attracted to people that stood out and had some kind of story to tell on their skin

There is but there are so many of them 4 different series with multiple books....your best bet would be get on my website and scroll through all of them.

My favorite movie is Fight Club....for tv...right now I'm loving Taboo

If You could colaborate with any other author who would You like to choose?"
Cora Carmack...she's my bestie. i would also totally write with Jo Wylde and Karina Halle

Lol..my mind never stops. I have an endless amount of stories I want to write but there will never be time to get to them all. My fingers don't work that fast.

JLA, Cora, Sara Ney, Tijan, Pen Douglas, Tyler King

My favorite was Bad. Bax is my favorite of all the boys I've ever written and it was also the book that sort of signified I wasn't always going to write NA and do the Marked Men forever. Plus I loved getting to make each boy badder and tougher as the Point series goes on

Naw if I have an idea and the time I'll write it. I mean Retreat was a semi-western so I'm not scared of anything..lol. I don't read YA so I doubt that would ever be a genre I ventured into

What's next after Riveted?"
Avenged
Salvaged
Dignity
Shelter
It's a year full of books for sure

I'm finishing the Point series and possibly adding onto that series. I'm finishing Retreat and possibly expanding that world depending on how the next books do. i wrote a standalone you can read in my newsletter so that eventually I'm publishing as well...honestly I'm not sure where it's all going. Eventually I'll probably swing back to the next generation of the MM but it won't be for a while

Tack Allen
Seth (from JLA's covenant series)
Mason Kade
Jared Trent
Knight (also KA)

I just finished Recovered. It's a very angsty NA about a recovering addict and his sober companion...you can read it for free in my newsletter if you subscribe.
I'm working on the final draft of Salvaged and I'm writing Dignity...the next Point book as we speak

I have always been a HUGE reader...primarily romance and there was a point there when nothing in romance was what I wanted to read. Nothing spoke to me or to my life and my experiences so I thought "if I can't find it I should write it" I think that's what most authors that find a following and build a long term career do. they write what they want to read....they write to tell a story they have to tell...not one they think will sell or fits a trend

I honestly love Ayden. I love that she knows who she is and where she is going with no question. I also really love Keelyn from Honor. I would kill to be as confident as she is. I identify the most with Leo because I also had a relationship go sideways and it changed who I was a lot as a person

I have to have a cold Pepsi on hand...I also need a good chair...any kind of good chair will do...but it has to be comfortable because in deep writing mode I'm not moving from that spot for hours upon hours

Of all time Jd Salinger and Catcher in they Rye...in romance Anne Stuart and a book called Ritual sins....she started my love of bad boys and really pushed the envelope on how far you can push a hero and heroine

Wanting to write books that had things that I felt represented my life and my kind of people in them. I was missing stories I identified with. My voice was missing from romance. As for wanting to write...books have always been my most favorite thing ever. Storytelling has always been my happy place

right now she's 17/18 and headed towards college. He's about 28. Way too old for her...lol...when I get to their story she'll be about 22 and he'll be early 30s. That's part of the reason their book is the last one...it's tricky to get those ages to line up and not be creepy and inappropriate

Norway! I want to kiss a viking :) Cora and I are actually going this May.
I'd also like to see Iceland and Northern Ireland.
