The style and characters are very different but I think she's a great storyteller regardless of which genre she's writing. Just don't expect it to be anything like HP. I can't say it's my favorite mystery series but I do enjoy it and would recommend it. :D

I was wondering how much snow you got Jenn! Wow!!

The sun is supposed to come out this afternoon. There was a statistic on our news that we have only had seven whole days of sun since October! I'm not sure that is accurate but it does feel like that is true. Its hard to keep the spirits up with this much gray. The good news is spring and summer are coming and the northwest is the best place to live during those seasons! I have been reading a lot so not entirely a bad thing.

Colorful Colorado enjoys over 300 days of Sunshine each year :-)
Today is particularly beautiful!

I have finished reading book 3 in the Wayward Pines Trilogy. The Last Town. I'm using this as part of the Spring Reading Challenge for Task #7 because the main character has to deal with the results of both infidelity and loss of freedom. I highly recommend the series by Blake Crouch.

BTW, The Last Town could also be used for Task #5 for a character who is living a double life or hiding a big secret :-)

I have finished re-reading THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne for the 7th or so time. I'm going to use this book as part of the Spring Reading Challenge for task #3. The book is non-fiction. The author is from Australia & begins her journey to understanding The Secret in Australia.


I am also currently reading the sequel, THE POWER.

I am going to count for the loss of freedom part of the challenge , he is a castaway. Spring should be in my neck of the woods....eventually. We still have a few snow mounds and I drove through flurries, drizzle and a mix on Friday. I am just dreaming about trying to grow veggies in planters, while clothed!!

I just finished This counts as someone's freedom is at stake, at least their freedom to love and be together. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the Griffin & Sabine books. They are beautiful, they combine an epic love story with art, all written through their correspondence. Its awesome! So inspiring for someone who loves the written word and art.

Sounds wonderful!! My favorite artist is Raymond James Stuart. I have "A Surprise" framed. It is from a calendar my Grandma had, she framed it and the picture hung above her desk in her office at the restaurant and bar my family owned. Later it was put out in the dining room. When my dad sold the restaurant he asked if I wanted anything. That picture. Love it. Who is your favorite artists?

Evacuees were able to return home this morning. It is very hot, dry and windy around here though - so a bit scary for fire potential. There is rain in the forecast beginning Thursday through the end March so that will be good - snow would be even better. If things don't change quickly, it's gonna be a scary summer.

My son lives in Colorado Springs and its been a warm, dry winter for them too. It is the perfect scenario for a scary summer.

I finished It has a painful, yet humorous, fallout from infidelity. Carl Hiaasen is a very funny writer.

Carl Hiaasen is another author I've been meaning to give a try.

Just finished a disturbing book, The Girls. It has a mother/daughter relationship in it. It has Manson like murders in it.

finished Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between for the spring break task.

I listened to which works for #3. Great book enjoyed it!

I am so behind in reading and kinda lost track of everything. I blame the games, Resident Evil 7, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Mainly Zelda is to blame, I've played the game for roughly 75 hours straight. It over took my life, I had no control. It is such an amazing game. 10/10 is what I would give it. lol

Anyways, This is a kick butt challenge cause Star Wars is actually incorporated into the challenge even if it is for a really sad reason. But anyways, I may read Bloodline for it. Batman challenge sounds like Batman comic time?!?!?! I must look up World Naked Gardening Day, it sounds like an awesome holiday.

I am currently reading Storm Front by Jim Butcher. I just don't know if it will fit into any of the challenges.

I just finished watching the new Gilmore Girls eps on Netflix. With the exception of the last one, I was a bit disappointed. It seemed like it to that one to get their groove back, lol.

I know what you mean. I liked the first and last episodes-I was disappointed with the others too-the first and last episodes were written by Amy and the middle two were written by her husband. If they do another revival, I hope she writes them all. :)

I finished another book for the challenge, keeping up the reading of books by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, . My reading counts for w-h-a-m. A small book with a big impact!

I thought the ending made sense-kind of a full circle thing. I hated the logan storyline and the forgettable boyfriend thing.
