It was about 85 here in Colorful Colorado Saturday, nice weather for Naked Gardening Day, but I didn't notice any naked bodies in their gardens that day.

message 154: by Christine (new)

Christine | 798 comments The Seattle Times "uncovers" the whole story behind naked gardening days:

Thanks for the informative article Christine :-)

Rachel | 3530 comments So I read The Dry last month and it was counted towards my challenge but for some reason it disappeared from my challenge list today-somehow the date I finished reading it got erased-another weird gr glitch :/

Anyway finished Finders Keepers (Bill Hodges Trilogy, #2) by Stephen King which works for the freedom task-can't believe it took me this long to read it. I really liked it and hope to finish the trilogy soon. :)

Those GR Glitches are frustrating. I would think they'd be gone now that Amazon runs the site.

I have enjoyed many of the new Stephen King Novels, including Bill Hodges :-)

I haven't seen it yet-will have to check it out. :)

Have you read the books, Christine? I keep thinking i need to read more of his books before i try the series-I've heard there's a bunch of references to earlier books.

message 160: by Danell (new)

Danell (danellbookworm) | 686 comments I finished "Room" and enjoyed it. What a disturbing book that had me going through so many different emotions.

Quilly is still becoming use to us. My son is so happy!

I haven't seen the DT trailer and have only read the first in the series. Confession, didn't really care for it. Enjoyed the Bill Hodges books.

I've read the first three in the series but my plan is to re-read and continue the series to the end.

I haven't read the Bill Hodges books yet.

There's just not enough time to read all that I want!

Thanks for the update, Danell! :)
Glad you're all bonding with Quilly! I love that name by the way :)

Back in 2010, I attempted to read The Gunslinger, book one in the Dark Tower Series, but it didn't get catch my interest & I gave up.

I'll probably watch the film though.

Rachel | 3530 comments Hey Dustin-I actually have a Koontzlander question but didn't know which thread to post it in so posted it here instead.

Is Intensity going to appear in any upcoming polls for group reads this year? I know there are a gazillion dean books and they can't all be on the poll but I just got it on sale and have been wanting to read this title for a while. I'd prefer to read it with the group so that's why I'm asking.

Hope all is well in hedgehog village :)

My internet has been down since Monday, just got it restored.

The Koontzland Group Read Polls are now based entirely on which titles haven't been featured most recently since we finished reading all Dean Koontz Readily available titles back in 2014. Since Intensity was featured in 2015, it probably won't be showing up on the poll until next year at the soonest.

However, I'm sure we can another Koontzlander or two interested & we can feature the book as a Mini Group Read in Koontzland :-) I can get the ball rolling tonight.

My two new hedgehogs are arriving on Sunday.

Christine | 798 comments I finished two books for the challenge:

Nick Hornby book: Funny Girl

Still madly reading :) or is it reading madly, lol

Danell (danellbookworm) | 686 comments Well, my work truck broke down. Got fixed, but broke down again. I was fortunate enough to finish an audio book while it briefly ran, the book wouldn't work for the challenge, but have "The Princess Diarist" on audio book, just not sure when my truck will be done, again.

Hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day Weekend

That is no good Danell. Your truck broken down & no audiobook going! I hope you had a spare printed or ebook available in your emergency essentials kit. Hope this doesn't happen very often.

Best Wishes to you and all for Memorial Day Weekend.

Sorry about your truck, Danell. Hope it gets fixed soon.

message 175: by Christine (new)

Christine | 798 comments Sorry to hear about the truck, Danell. Hopefully it will be up and running sooner than later. I always carry with me something I call a "flood book". Its for just in case there is a "flood" and I get stranded somewhere, lol.

I am having a good Memorial weekend. The weather is warm and dry finally!!!!!!

message 176: by Danell (new)

Danell (danellbookworm) | 686 comments Well, the spare truck I was in yesterday broke down. Lift gate wouldn't go back up. Normally have a book in my bag, but took it out for some reason. The homeowner was nice and rescue showed up in a somewhat timely manner. I know I won't be in my normal truck with the CD player on Tuesday. Thinking I will be listening to radio and making up inappropriate song lyrics.

So with my truck down and only a few more days left in the challenge, guess I am finished.

Looking forward to the Summer challenge, Rain and thunderstorms for my area today and tomorrow. It's Memorial Day weekend, it seems like it always rains then.

Sorry about the spare truck breaking down as well-when it rains it pours :/

On the upside-making up inappropriate lyrics can be fun while singing along to the radio. :)

Hope June brings better luck. :)

I like the sound of inappropriate song lyrics :-)

message 179: by Christine (new)

Christine | 798 comments Inappropriate song lyrics are a family pastime. They are always good for a laugh.

Just finished Truly Madly Guilty Good for book set in Australia. Moriarty is great at the slow reveal to the mystery, almost maddeningly so!
