Gareth Hello,

I need some help please! i have recently finished reading the Rage War series by Tim Lebbon and i need more! I've tried reading through some blurbs etc but nothing seems to be scratching that itch.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent space opera, nice, dark and claustrophobic. People against all odds, something like the Alien series/films if that makes sense? There are a couple of Aliens/Predator books that i haven't read but surely there must be something else out there.

Anyone have any decent recommendations ? Many thanks fir your help!

Ronnie (ronnieb) | 322 comments Give Robert Buettner's "Orphanage" series a try.

series a try.

Trike | 777 comments I think Alan Dean Foster's novelization of Dark Star might suit you. It's better than the movie (which was Dan O'Bannon's practice story for Alien). It's more humorous, but still pretty dark. It was the 1970s, after all.

On my TBR is Lightless by C.A. Higgins. I haven't read it of course, but it sounds like a similar type of story.

L.E. Doggett (ldwriter2) | 60 comments Ian Dougless Star Carrier series. A bunch of overwhelming odds, actions, aliens to be paranoid about and you might even learn a couple of things.
