Awesome. Thanks, Laura! I should be able to participate in all 3 BOM for May, then.

In past towers there has been a seperate thread for posting completed books. It was asked in the captain's chat thread but no answer yet. Mods are busy gettting the challenge ready for us. As soon as we know we will let you all know.

MelanieJoy (ladybird11) | 1414 comments Yay! So exciting! I hope everyone has a great start to their week and collected some fun books to start Towers with! It's encouraging for me to read alongside other avid readers :)

In honor of the theme and Mystery and Thriller week, I will be starting Towers with The Circle, obviously, as well as...

wait for it...

Rogue One A Star Wars Story by Alexander Freed

It just arrived a day or so ago in my ebook library! Haha cool timing! :)

message 257: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments I'm starting with The Circle by Dave Eggers , The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See Time for Love (The McCarthys of Gansett Island, #9) by Marie Force Glory over Everything Beyond The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom Unplugged (The Wired, #1) by Donna Freitas

ha, a few of my holds came in! (either all at once or none!)

Very fitting start Melanie.

message 258: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 1199 comments I'm going to start with The Circle by Dave Eggers Paper Towns by John Green Blue Christmas (Weezie and Bebe Mysteries, #3) by Mary Kay Andrews Summer Sisters by Judy Blume and Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore .

I love that we can read books that work for other challenges without fear of them not counting! After I get through all those I'm going to tackle Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles .

Laura | 9707 comments I just put Lilac Girls on hold at my local library. I 'm 8th in queue.

message 261: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 1199 comments Laura, let me know when you get it! Depending on how quickly I get through the other books (and what else gets added to my list in the meantime), we could do a buddy read with it.

MelanieJoy (ladybird11) | 1414 comments Brooke, let me know when you're ready for Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys . I'd like to buddy read it.

Sounds great. I wouldn't mind doing a buddy read with it!

Nancy | 577 comments Romina wrote: "I am enjoying it, finding it more interesting than I expected."

Me too Romina! I probably wouldn't have picked this one up on my own. But just started and I'm enjoying it as well. Just found out that it was just released as a movie with Tom Hanks and Emma Watson! More encouragement to read it first!

message 269: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 577 comments I'm starting with The Circle by Dave Eggers and then also going to read Into the Water by Paula Hawkins I Found You by Lisa Jewell Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens and I just picked up Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor from the library yesterday as well!

message 270: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments Yeah I heard about the movie yesterday and I can't wait to see it after I read the book!
I have "Into the Water" available to read, maybe I'll do it this month and we can talk about it?

message 271: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 1199 comments Nancy - you got lucky at your library!

Romina & Nancy - I also have Into the Water by Paula Hawkins . Let me know when you are going to read it and I'll join in on the discussion. I'd love to wait until the end of the month or early June, but if you plan to read it earlier I can try to squeeze it in.

Alissa & MelanieJoy - Would next Friday (5/12) be too late to start? I've got a business trip next Mon-Thurs, and the hardback book is a bit too large for me to take along. I'm excited to read Salt to the Sea! I've owned it for a few months and have been wanting to get to it...

Nope. I'm mixed about where to start. Changing my mind left and right.

message 275: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 1199 comments Romina wrote: "Am I the only one that has no idea which books to read yet?"

The only reason I have a plan is because I am involved in another challenge that ends 5/31, so I have prompts to finish for it. :/

message 276: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments Nancy,
Chevy Stevens book was good. I just recently read that!!

Erin | 615 comments Romina wrote: "Am I the only one that has no idea which books to read yet?"

I just have a huge stack to chose from, but I'm starting with A Cast of Vultures cause it's due back at the library in a week

message 278: by Ozana (new)

Ozana Ozzy (barbozzy) | 1018 comments I'll start with Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor and I also got Into the Water by Paula Hawkins but I can wait if we are going to read it together, The Lost City of Z A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon by David Grann ..

I picked a few books to read when challenge starts.

message 279: by MelanieJoy (new)

MelanieJoy (ladybird11) | 1414 comments Haha Erin that's exactly how I decide which books to read.

Brooke, 5/12 works perfectly for me. Actually, I may start 5/15 since that's Mother's Day weekend and I won't read anything that weekend.

Also, PSA I'm going to Ecuador 5/22-6/2 so I'll be MIA and off the grid, most likely no internet access. Don't kick me off the team because you don't hear from me! I'll still try to read! :D

Brooke | 1199 comments MelanieJoy wrote: "Brooke, 5/12 works perfectly for me. Actually, I may start 5/15 since that's Mother's Day weekend and I won't read anything that weekend..."

As long as Alissa is cool with a 5/15 start date since it is a library book, it works for me! Anyone else want to join on Salt to the Sea?

And Ecuador?? So jealous! I have been to Europe several times and to Dubai & Thailand, but never to Central or South America. I'm making my first trip there the end of July. My brother, uncle and I are going to Roatan, Honduras.

message 281: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments I don't have that book and won't be able to get it! So not joining in this time!

Ecuador sounds nice! I've never been to Central America, been wanting to for a while. Boyfriend and I are planning a trip to playa del Carmen hopefully next summer!

Sorry guys, but I'm going to have to start Into the Water Thursday. It's a new release/library book and I only have two weeks to read it. I want to make sure I get it read before it has to go back! You guys can buddy read and I can just add my comments in when you discuss!

I can't do a buddy read, unless you want to start Thursday! As I mentioned in a recent post it's a library book and due back in two weeks. But we can definitely discuss!

So many books, so little time.

(I feel like that the describes my life most of the time...)

Exactly.
(It doesn't help that I keep adding to the stacks before I read the ones I already have...)

Oh, lovely, Brooke, thanks for the giggle:-) Glad our lovely co-captain maria helena was around to help!

Just a reminder that maria helena and I both work during the work week. She is able to update some during the day depending on how busy she is. Unfortunately, *pout, pout*, I can only update after work.

Get your books ready ladies, we are going to rock this challenge tomorrow!

maria helena (mariahel) | 1924 comments Laura wrote: "Get your books ready ladies, we are going to rock this challenge tomorrow!"

The challenge starts at 3 pm for me. I have loaded Dead Water (Shetland Island, #5) by Ann Cleeves on my iPod and am ready to start! I'm hoping I can sneak in some listening while still at work :-)

message 296: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 1199 comments You guys - last week I had so many books in my CR folder, but I only have 1 left!!!! I can't believe it. I have ~145 pages left of The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story and THAT IS IT. I should be able to finish tonight, although I do have a huge pile of work to get through. The TT deadline must have been just what I needed. :-)

message 298: by Romina (new)

I will probably finish The Circle by tomorrow, I couldn't resist and started reading along and I'm close to the end!
