I'm finishing up The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story too- almost finished!

MelanieJoy- Ecuador sounds like so much fun! I'm trying to take a vacation in June, but it's still not for sure yet. Fingers crossed it all works out,

Go Go!!

I'm sulking I've spent the best part of 24 hours getting access to my library's ebook site. What a mess that was, the support is USA based (WHY!?) and they then forwarded my email to the UK based support which you can't find on the site otherwise I'd have started with them. To discover that currently after checking most of my 'over 3 pounds list' of books with this site there are no ebooks on there from authors I have read or would read...

Why don't they just when they get the paperback version get the ebook version too?! And they wonder why libraries are shutting in the UK, I can't get home in time to go into the library unless I leave work early & by some irony they only open half day on Saturday so forget it if I have other commitments in the morning.

Sorry Rant over :|

MelanieJoy (ladybird11) | 1414 comments I started
Dragon Slippers (Dragon Slippers, #1) by Jessica Day George

It's a fairly quick book so I may start Rogue One afterward. Or I may just work on The Circle. Who knows? Lol.

message 321: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments I finished The Circle! I'll post it on the completed books thread when I get home tonight because I can't put the link to the discussion post from my phone!

I always read at night because I mostly work afternoons until 10 pm so I'm use to.

Hooray for Romina!

Megan I'm so sorry for mess they made your reading difficult.

Hey everyone, we are off to a great start. We have some books completed, and teamies reading the first BOM ; so extra points there! If you haven't noticed the spreadsheet was added to our team thread earlier today. You can find it in POST #2

Feel free to track our progress by checking out the spreadsheet!

Happy reading!!

I use my mobile browser to get onto GR I cannot stand the app, its horrible. Its not great to use on the browser but it beats the app by miles :)...

Well done everyone for reading! :-)

message 329: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments I don't think I've ever used the browser, everything just seems so small!

Well done everyone, we are off to a great start!!

message 330: by MelanieJoy (new)

MelanieJoy (ladybird11) | 1414 comments Haha yes! Great start!

Ok I'll hopefully get caught up on The Circle today. No excuses! Not sure why I've been putting it off.

Last night I did have a good excuse though. I went to the Golden State Warriors NBA playoff game! My friend Alicia works for game experience and got us tickets AND put me and other friend Wendy's names on the jumbotron! Then we got to take a pic on center court after the game!! One of the highlights of my year so far :)

Brooke | 1199 comments MelanieJoy wrote: "Last night I did have a good excuse though. I went to the Golden State Warriors NBA playoff game!..."

That's awesome!! Playoff games are so fun, especially Warriors games. I lived in Sacramento back in 2001-03 when the Kings were good, and I was fortunate to get invited to a couple of playoff games. I am a huge basketball fan, so it was a treat!

message 332: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments That sounds like so much fun! I would love to go to an NBA game sometime! I used to watch a ton of games on tv when I was a kid living in the u.s

MelanieJoy (ladybird11) | 1414 comments Thank you ladies! It truly was a blast and I am very blessed!

Are you all enjoying your books so far? Do you have good weekends planned?

message 335: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 1199 comments I'm halfway through my 2nd book, which I'll most likely finish tomorrow morning. This weekend is going to be gorgeous in Dallas - 85 & sunny with a light breeze tomorrow! - so I'll be doing something outside. Sunday will be spent getting ready for my business trip next week and reading on the patio. :)

TGIF!

message 336: by maria helena (new)

maria helena (mariahel) | 1924 comments I've started my second book :-)

I had planned to go for a long hike tomorrow, because we have had wonderful weather this week, but now it's looking quite grim outside. Plan B is to spend the weekend relaxing at home with a good book (or two).

message 337: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments I started a book today and am loving it! It's from one of my favorite series and I'm hoping it won't disappoint me :) looking good so far!

I love my fitbit. It definitely helps me walk more!

(I might be just slightly obsessed with getting those stars when you reach your daily step goal...)

message 340: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments I'm away tomorrow and Sunday ( back Sunday evening) at my daughter's swim meet. She is ranked 3rd in one of her swims-:) Hoping to get in some reading on down times and some shopping! Maria Helena will be around if anyone has any questions.

message 341: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments Oh the swim meet should be fun Laura! Enjoy :)

Maria Helena im really loving it so far! Haven't tested it doing any exercise because it arrived really late today. Resting HR seems pretty accurate which surprised me.

message 342: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments I have a samsung gear fit instead of a fitbit. Its funny how a watch can help you exercise more. Im just getting in from an evening eating with friends :). Hopefully will be reading this weekend but will have to see how it goes.

Ahh good luck to your daughter Laura, I used to love swimming never entered meets or anything so I'll cross my fingers and toes for her :).

message 343: by Ozana (new)

Ozana Ozzy (barbozzy) | 1018 comments What is Fitbit?
We don't have that here in my country, we have Apple Watch ( and other wrist watches) but it costs much more than in US, like 600-800$.

I love Laini Tylor's new book, putty that we always have to wait for sequel so long, hate that, but I just couldn't wait.

We have few days of bad weather but I wish you all great weekend in nature or just at home reading.
I'll finish my 2 books by the end of Sunday with free weekend.
I see that we all enjoy our books, we have great start!

I use my iPad and it's so small when I'm writing. GR app is not good, just for big letters.

message 344: by Erin (new)

Erin | 615 comments I really like my Fitbit, but I haven't been very active the last couple weeks. I always keep it on me at work- I can usually get about 3 miles just walking around the bakery :)

I'm liking Caraval, it's not super unique but it's pretty entertaining

I thought about the samsung gear fit but the fitbit app/community won me over in the end!

Ozana wrote: "What is Fitbit?

Its a watch with heart rate monitor and activity tracker. I get you with things being more expensive, things are really expensive here in Uruguay as well the cheapest apple watch is around 600 dollars too. Fitbits dont exist here lol I had to buy it on amazon and it was a hassle to get here and ended up costing me like 60 dollars more than it costs in the u.s :(

Im going to be going to bed and reading a bit soon :D

I was wondering how that was going for you. I tried the Girl on The Train and of course I'm in the minority of those who DID NOT like it. I couldn't finish it. Hope this one gets better for you and/or you read something to your liking!

message 349: by Romina (new)

Romina (romii) | 306 comments I am loving my book, and I read today that the author is signed to do 14 books in the series! And only 6 are out so dar(I'm currently reading the 5th) so that's exciting for me!
I've really gotten to know and love/hate the characters and it's nice to see the progression
