Mystery Madness discussion

Hi everyone, we had a suggestion to start a new thread for our group so that you guys can share and discuss what mysteries and thrillers that you are currently reading or have just read. I would love for our group to stay active year round. Of course we still have the Book1CoziesClub for discussing cozy mysteries, so this will be a place for you to tell about any other mysteries or thrillers that you are currently reading or have finished. I encourage all members to join in and tell us what you are reading. Thanks Tim for the suggestion!

I am close to finishing Masterpieces of Mystery In Four Volumes Detective Stories which is a compilation of detective from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and I have liked every short story in it so far and have been introduced to authors that I've never read before.

I am also about to start The Scorpion's Nest which is a modern day thriller with ties to a Nazi experiment form World War II.

Sorry about not posting anything lately. My health problems slowed down my reading, posting and reviews.

I have just finished reading Firefox by Craig Thomas.

I am about to start reading Red Rabbit by Tom Clancy
and Justice for Jessica by Alretha Thomas.

Tim, when I saw Policewoman, my mind went immediately to Angie Dickinson! I hope you are enjoying all your current reads. The only mystery that I'm reading right now is The Listening Woman by Tony Hillerman. I'm supposed to read Skinwalkers for local bookclub by the 20th and I'm trying to read the earlier books in the series first. I probably won't get them read in time, but it's a good goal.
I want to start Mad Season soon, which is this month's pick for the #Book1CoziesClub, but I'm also doing a summer library challenge and I haven't been able to figure out how to fit it in with the challenges.

Earlier this year, I read and reviewed The Policewoman by Justin W.M. Roberts. After my review and several others criticizing similar items as me, the author made changes to the book and has sent me an updated copy of the book to review. I will start reading that updated copy tomorrow morning.

The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter Very good book but her other book from last year IMO was better but still this is a good read

The French Girl by Lexie Elliott Hard to believe this is a debut work of fiction--it is that well done. I am looking forward to reading much more from this excellent writer to come. Highly recommend This to everyone whom love a good mystery book! And I will be reading more fromt his person! I am glad i won it as a giveaway

Watch Me by Jody Gehrman Another book i won as a giveaway It was okay of a book but its not one of my favs I though both Kate and Sam was so damn stupid. If You like stalker books this one for you.

Before This Is Over by Amanda Hickie It was okay of a book it make you think what you will do if this ever happen to you but the mother was a compelete bitch!

Crime Scene by Jonathan Kellerman & Jesse Kellerman Very good book from father/son writing team! I have love Jonthan Kllerman books and now I am gonna love his sons book too

Jury Of One by David Ellis A New Author for me and his writing its like John Grisham whom I just love. I will be reading more from this person

Terminal City by Linda Fairstein Another great Alex Cooper and Mike Chapman series! I am really loving her Series it remind me so much as Law & order SUV

Lightning by Dean Koontz Its one of his older books and I never read it before finally had time and i love it!

Bloody Mary by J.A. Konrath 2nd book of his Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels series. Gonna try to get the rest of them read ASAP. I really liked this book he writing reminds me of Janet Evanovich

The Chosen by Sharon Sala I been meaning to read this one a long time. It wasnt bad but i read better from her

Life Sentence by David Ellis If You like John Grisham writing you will love this one too. This is 2nd book i read from him and i love both books

The Woman Who Couldn't Scream by Christina Dodd I won this book as a giveaway in August but they where late getting it to me and it finally come in October 30. I really loved the book. IMO its the best of her series

The Deepest Cut by Dianne Emley I really didnt care for this at all

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie Found this at walmart last week and i had to buy i love AC books and I am gonna try to read all in this series

Some are but most of his books are standalone. The Rambo books are a series, of course, and Murder as a Fine Art is the first one of a series. I didn't read any of his books until earlier this year and he has become one of my favorite authors.

I just finished Two Kinds of Truth by Michael Connelly. His recurring characters, Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller, are two favorites of mine. I enjoyed the book so much. I always learn something new from Connelly, and Harry is like a relative.

The Other Daughter by Lisa Gardner This book is one of her older books and IMO it wasnt good at all i gave it 3 stars she has writen better books then this one

This is great I'm a bit of a technophobe. only just got my head round twitter etc for #marchmysterymadness. I've been enjoying a new series set in France by Martin Walker about Police Chief Bruno. The first in the series is Death in the Dordogne. There not cosy but not too hard boiled crime either Catherine x

I'm working on finishing a few books before the end of the month. Along with Digital Fortress, I've started reading The Black Echo by Michael Connelly and Inspector of the Dead by David Morrell. Then I'll put together my March Mystery Madness TBR. I already have a couple books in mind.

I have Digital Fortress sitting on my shelf. I look forward to hearing what you think of it!

Right now I’m reading the graphic novel Blankets. Also my 10 year old son and I have a nightly read aloud and we just started the 39 clues series: The Maze of Bones. After Blankets I’ll be picking up some of the mysteries that I wanted to read next month but that I didn’t choose for any of the challenges.

I'm reading Swabbed & Found by Frank Billingsley. He manages to make the science of DNA and the journey to meet his birth parents suspenseful and intriguing. I'm learning a lot, too!
