As of now my plan looks like this: and hopefully some others but not sure which ones yet! :)

Hmmm :) well here's what it's looking like-

Here's what I'm hoping to get to this month:

I've learned from experience if I give myself a larger pool to choose from I'm much more likely to stick to the plan. So if I read half of these I'll call the month a success.

Since there is just one month to complete "What's in a name" challenge, cramming these 3 this month:

I have a lot of YA books to read for class (not sure if I'm excited about that or not, but it should be interesting), so I have no idea what reading for fun will look like, but here's what I'm hoping:

I'm currently listening to it right now- it's pretty edgy to be honest- it's not feeling like a Christian fiction book, it's very real, with the relationships, that's for sure, but just wanted to give you that heads up. I'm about halfway through and going to finish it, because it was nominated for an INSPY, but we'll see how it ends :) But sure, if you'd like to do a buddy read, I'd love to.

I'm right there with you Caroline- I'm very behind on this challenge! I might have to use some of my "children's books" to complete this one :)

Cheryl, thank you for the heads-up on Hummingbird Cake. I hadn't heard much about it yet. I can't get to it right away, so I think I better not do a buddy read on it. I didn't know if you were getting to it right away or later in the month. We'll have to do another one soon, though. :)

Sounds good!! I am listening to it on audiobook. :) while I do my spring cleaning :)

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about it. Fortunately, I have only one book to go, and I already have it from the library. I'll start it within the next few days.

Oooh, you'll have to let us know what you think about London in the Dark! I love a good cozy mystery/detective novel (especially one set in the UK), and have never heard of this author before.

Betsy, I read it a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. It's her debut novel and is geared toward YA, but that didn't keep me from enjoying the mystery. It's got a solid Christian message. I too am looking forward to Andrea's review!

I bought at about 5:30 pm yesterday and finished reading it at 1:30 am this morning. Go grab your copy!! It officially comes out on Tuesday, but Barnes and Noble already had it in stock...so good! 😋

Betsy, the opening prologue of London in the Dark grabbed my attention immediately. Here's the note I wrote about it: "Impactful opening scenes captured my interest immediately, transporting me to a long-ago era." I'll make a note to include the link to my review in this thread once I finish. Thanks for asking! This is the first book I'll be reading by Victoria Lynn, and I'm pretty excited to see how it unfolds.

Some of these were on my list last month but the library has not seen fit to actually get them in yet, beyond having them on order.


Until the library gets any of these I will be reading from my e-reader.

I've been reading whatever strikes my fancy lately but I plan to read , finish , and I do have from the library, if I can get to it before I have to return it. And my pastor recommended several books recently, many about how the church responds to social issues, and I would like to choose one of those to read as well.

It's been a while since I read A Proper Pursuit, but I remember really liking it! :)

I must say that I have met this author, plus warrior for Christ in person before at a women's conference and she was truly wonderful and a force to be reckoned with. I truly look forward to reading her novels.

I will also be planning on reading by Kachi Ugo.

I never know what I am going to read in a month because I don't know what books (free or great deals) are going to show up in all the various digital book lists that I subscribe to. I have hundreds on my to-read list as well.

So far I have finished one Christian Fiction book this month and purchased the other six books in the series because I liked "Hand-Me-Down Princess" so much. The author Carol Moncado is a new author to me but I am glad I stumbled upon her. I like the princess/royalty storyline and the strong faith component included in the stories. The stories remind me of the "Reclaiming the Crown" series by Rachelle McCalla that I enjoyed under the Love Inspired Suspense line (Harlequin) several years ago.

I am reading and . Not far enough into either one to say how much I like the stories yet. I expect to get the June buddy-read from the library in the next couple days and will be reading that as well.

Question: Is it okay to mention books that I am reading that are not Christian on this thread as long as they are clean (no sex or bad language) or should I only include Christian books? I read a lot of clean fantasy books and also some clean romance books that are not Christian although it is pretty hard to find truly clean romances that are not Christian.

Courtney, I have heard Liz Curtis Higgs speak and she was fabulous. I don't know if I've read anything by her. I'll have to make a point to look for her books next time I'm in a reading slump.

Jolyn, yes, it's definitely okay. We're not about policing what people read here. If you do think there is something that might push someone's button, feel free to post a disclaimer. Honestly, I usually just say "not CF" because I feel like that pretty much covers it. I rarely read even mainstream fiction that I would feel utterly uncomfortable posting here, so for me, that covers it. However, some members go further and say, these are the specific reasons I don't recommend this book, etc. Either way is fine. :) Hopefully that makes sense!

Oh, I would LOVE to hear her speak. I've only seen videos, etc., and I always enjoy her blog posts. Her Lowlands of Scotland series was one of the first CF series that I ever read, so I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for those!

I got an advanced copy of which releases today! I see it on some of your "read in June lists" and I recommend it! I really enjoyed it. :)

Thank you for the clarification about what we can post/talk about regarding what we are reading this month. I am finding it very interesting to see what people are reading. I noticed several of the same books on different people's lists and that has caused me to go check them out (and add them to my list - like I needed any more on my list LOL!) The specific book/series I added was the Teaville Moral Society. It sounds really interesting and like it has a good dose of faith incorporated. Not going to read them this month though as I will try to find them at the library or hope for a sale on the digital books.

I hear you - my to-read list is out of control, but that's okay! :)

I"m actually reading book two of the Teaville Moral Society - I'm really enjoying it, as I did the first book. Melissa Jagears also has another series that starts with A Bride for Keeps.

She does a great job at touching on tough subjects without allowing the story to be too bogged down with sadness. She also creates some really nice characters, so it's easy to get into their story.
