Ed | 22 comments Starting July 1st I think I will try to read mysteries/thrillers from a different country each week. Suggestions would be super, super welcome. I nominated Summer of Dead Toys for June--been reading that author due to fact I travelled to Barcelona last month. Really enjoyed that book. I think reading from different countries would give me a great insight into the differences/similarities of the places and mysteries are great books for that given the place often is the background atmosphere. Still have the book Coffin for Demetrios in mind with all the various places he travelled.

You don't have to do the challenges obviously, but it is a great resource for books of all kinds shelved by country.

I'm not sure if you want to stick to writers native of the country they are writing about but either way the group should give you some ideas

Thomas (tom471) | 2007 comments This list has mysteries categorized by US states, Canada provinces and then countries worldwide. I believe UK is subdivided, but don't remember for sure. It is a very long list.

I found it very helpful for my ongoing US/UN mystery challenge.
See https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I have attached reviews for many of the books that I have read.

Nell The most recent theme for featured read is mysteries that were translated to English. The first post has a link to a list on book riot of mysteries from around the world. There're some great books on the list.
