Looking for a book an all i remember is:

It's Christmas time an the h is home alone because roommate is away. While at home i think waiting for H to come over there is a knock at the door an the h thinks it's the H, but it is the h's ex (i think his name is like Nate or Neil or something). The ex wants the h back but she doesn't want him because later in their relationship the h found out he was a alcoholic and he hit her. She tells him to leave, but he is drunk again an attacks her an pushed her up against the window and feeling her up.

Meanwhile the H is at home with his family, he is getting ready to leave when is mom asks him to take the h her Christmas present because she is good friends of the family and she either forgot it or she couldn't make it. The H agrees to take it by her place. When he pulls up outside of h's house he looks up and sees the h up against the window with some guy. He is sad at first because he is in love with her an thinks she is with the other guy until he realizes that she is being attacked instead and gets out of the car an run up to the h's apartment and saves her by pulling the ex off her and i think knocks him out then calls the police. A course the H and h eventually get together. That is about all i remember.
