Hello! I am new here, and I need a new series, haha
please:
No sexual content
zero bad language
good morals
I'm fine with moderate violence
VERY well written
long and strong
Knights, mythical creatures
I want good characters, not stereotypical ones
preferably a male protagonist
Some romance is ok
I want something that will pull me in, suck the life out of me, and leave me obsessed XD and I would LOVE a character that I could get attached to :)
Thank you so very much!

Tammie | 5952 comments Hello Adelita. Do you like YA? It would be easier to find something that meets all of your criteria in the YA category.

I liked the Elfstones of Shannara.

For adult fantasy you'd be going probably back to the 60's-early 80's in order to meet your criteria.

Even YA has some sex and language in most of the series but you'd have better success.

Yes I agree. Old school stuff is more in-line with what you're hunting for. I think I'd hand you Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings. And maybe the Dragonlance: dragons of autumn twilight by Weis and Hickman.

I'm having hard-question bookseller flashbacks lol.

Chris (murphy44) | 710 comments What about The Dragonbone Chair? We just finished the group read of this first book in a 5 book series, so you'd catch up in time to get in on the group read of the second book.

I don't remember it breaking your rules.

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2429 comments So I think the main book I will always mention (and make sure everyone is annoyed about hearing it) the Ryiria Revelations by Michael J Sullivan starting with Theft of Swords and pretty much anything by him is great with great story and interesting characters that you might like or even obsess over as it did for me and it does get better as you go on and there is a prostitutes present in the book there is nothing graphic involved with them and the characters and are mainly in the background at least how I see it.

Like Chris said with The Dragonbone Chair if you want to have a go at it because it is DEFINITLY long and strong

I might as well mention this since I haven't yet finished it yet but Malice could be a possibility since I'm enjoying it with engaging stories and characters you will definitely like and I think it fits your criteria maybe there's a bit more blood (if you know what I mean)

So that's my thoughts

Your scope is pretty parochial. An Ember in the ashes isn't swords and night but it fits everything else. There's definitely an strong evil element and although no sexual content there's definitely the threat of some which is unwelcome. I agree with Ahdam's recommendation of Riyeria which is the only thing that truly fits.

An Ember in the Ashes
Theft of Swords

If you're willing to go outside of the knights I've try

Steelheart
The Final Empire

Steelheart is urban fantasy and Mistborn is epic in era one and steampunk in era two.

Tammie | 5952 comments Anything by Brandson Sanderson would work if you look outside of knights, and I agree you should try Theft of Swords.

Yes, I'll admit I am very against smut, as I prefer top-shelf literature. Thank you so much for the suggestions! I will check out these books, for sure!

Ooh! Well, there are actually two more in the series (5 total), so you don't have to miss him just yet! :D

I've heard of this book before and read the first chapter of it even put the first book up for a poll here and now I really want to read it since it sounds really good and from what I've read unfortunately I've got other books on schedule so wont be reading it for awhile hahaha

Liam (leeman729) | 828 comments I would highly recommend anything by Brandon Sanderson or Michael Sullivan. Both authors tend to have very clean but high-quality writing (I know Michael Sullivan in particular has said that this is one of his goals in the books he writes).

If you haven't read Way of Kings, definitely give that a shot.

Tammie | 5952 comments Oh yes, Eli Monpress would be another good one to try.
