Lieke | 1723 comments I didn't plan a lot of books, because of my two week holiday at the end of the month and because of A Dance with Dragons.

Lieke | 1723 comments I finished The Keeping Place by Isobelle Carmody today, I read most of it last month, but didn't manage the last 100 pages so I read them today.
Good 4th book in the series, really have to get book 5 because I want to know what happens next.

I had completely forgotten about this series till I saw it on your list! I had read the first two books years ago. Good luck with your list and a fun vacation!

Lieke | 1723 comments Today I finished Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. I'm not sure what to think about it, it was a weird book. I liked the writing and it makes you think. If you don't like it when nothing is explained in the end, this is not the book for you.

message 16: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 1631 comments Hmmm, I'm thinking I might skip that book for the D&J BoTM.

message 17: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 1723 comments Annihilation is the D&J SF BotM.
And Kings of the Wyld is the Fantasy BotM at D&J :)

message 18: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 1723 comments I finished reading Gelukszoekers by Megan Lindholm. With this book I finished reading the series, I liked the series but this book was not my favorite in the series.

Lieke | 1723 comments And I finished another series last week United As One by Pittacus Lore is the last book in the Lorien Legacies series. Also this last book is not my favorite in the series, but i did like it. Not sure yet if I will read the spinoff series where the first book will come out later this year.

Congrats, Lieke! One day I'll get to this series. I've avoided watching the movie until I do.

message 23: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 1723 comments I haven't seen the movie, because I haven't heard great things about it so I'm not sure I should watch it.

Lieke | 1723 comments I finished two more books this week.
Yesterday I finished Kings of the Wyld a fun fantasy book that doesn't take it self too seriously. I enjoyed it a lot, I liked the chemistry in the band and there where a lot of good side characters.

Today (very late yesterday) I finished Coctails för tre, it was very predictable but I liked the ending. So that made it a little better.

I finished all the books I wanted to read before my holiday except one because I couldn't find it......
Now I'm hoping to finish A Dance with Dragons in the next two weeks, only 1125 pages to go ;)

message 25: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 1631 comments Glad you enjoyed Kings of the Wyld. I liked it a lot too. Moog was my favorite, I think, though Clay was great too.

Good luck with A Dance with Dragons. Long book!

Lieke | 1723 comments I managed to finish A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin this morning. I liked is a lot, hopefully it won't take years before The Winds of Winter is published.

On the way home I started All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris.

I haven't started my August plan yet, something I have to do later this week :)
