The Boy on the Bridge discussion

I thought this was a sequel but the plot is just like The Girl With All the Gifts! I liked the first book but am disappointed the author writes the same book with a different title. I would think she could have been a little more creative.

It's the same world, but several years later and entirely different characters. And a different ending, for sure.

I kinda see where Chip is going though, I thought there would be more new discoveries, settings and developments, but I think many general themes, settings and even details are re-used from the first book. So even though the plot is different, many of the other things feel the same in my opinion.

And IMO the worst part is that he basically changes the ending of the first book to make it an extremely contrived Happy Ending.
