A third of the way through. The story has gotten really good with characters from book one and two merging. I still have to think about who is who when scenes change. None of the characters really stand out to me. I probably like Romany and the Spider the best just from an entertainment factor.
80% done. The story is setting up for the best convergence of the three books. I still wish I had more of an affinity for the characters.
Sorry I'm starting late. I'm glad to see your positive upstates Scott. Im looking forward to the convergence.

No worries. I started a little early. Did you ditch Inda?

I was so excited to read about Romany - most importantly about Vale. I think I am particularly in love with his set of magic skills (and the consequences of using them).

That's no fun. :( Unfortunately what goes on in private messaging is out of our jurisdiction. We really can only address issues that happen within the forum itself. I'd recommend just asking him to be more careful. From personal experience, he becomes really courteous about spoilers when he knows there's an issue.

Inadvertently. I started it right before I got that copy of Child of a Mad God, which I had to switch to due to its pending release date. By the time I finished that one, I had Dayfall to read, and now I'm so late I said heck with it and requested Nyxia Unleashed. I might be able to catch up before the next one though. I loved what I read so far, and it's still on the high priority list. I wish I had more time to read.

I'm enjoying Romany too (and Vale!). I'm having a hard time remembering (view spoiler)
I'm having a hard time getting going in this book even though I'm liking it's components. Might be a mood thing.

And the magic systems. I am in absolute awe for details and interesting overlapping of the systems.
That is a really cool aspect for sure. :) although I wonder if it comes at the expense of quicker plot-advancement.
I also like the magic systems, but what really has my interest are the stone skins (no one does it better than Jemisin but these are still interesting) and the people with gills. It's that extra level of world building that always amps me up.

I completely agree with you! I just started part III and I am super hyped for the latest character introduction! I have been waiting for this moment for 2 books and a half at this point!
I don't usually take a break from books, but I went a couple of days without reading anything and I think it's because I wasn't as engaged in this as I'd hoped to be. I'll pick it back up in a week or so.
Surprisingly, I've thrown this in as a DNF at about 55%. Would anyone care to tell me how it ends? lol

Sorry I didn't see this for a while. You know..........I don't remember. I generally know what happened but I can cite what happened in Malzan, Stormlight and other truly epic series no problem with detailed specifics. With this not so much.
Which makes me wonder if I'll continue this when the author comes out with the other three books. I think the world is good but the story and many of the characters just aren't all that memorable.

For me it will depend entirely on when the next one comes out. If I feel like I have to reread then it won't happen.
It will depend for me as well. The thing is there weren't any storylines that I'm dying to find out where they'll go.
