I went to look that up and it took me a second to get HOW Margret started it... I haven't watched that season of GoT yet... but I have scene that scene...

I have an 'owned but not on my to-read list' shelf here on GR. My husband saw it the other day and said, "You own 80 books that aren't even on your to-read list?" I was like, um...yeah. But in my defense a whole lot of them were Kindle freebies.

Mine was over 130 books and that was bothering me. I went on a deleting rage but only managed to get it down to 100, lol. I also had some freebies and a lot of kindle daily deals. I decided I am not picking those up anymore, unless it is a book I really want to read.

I have a hard time getting rid of books. I always think that maybe I'll decide I want to read it one day.

I am exactly like you. It took me years to get this first deleting rage. I wouldn't be surprised if in one week I start feeling guilty and download them again, as I only deleted them from the kindle device, not from the kindle account, lol

Haha, that's what I do too.

I leave them on the cloud storage and only keep a few books on my kindle at a time so no one who picks it up will realize how bad of a book buying problem I have.

The more books on your kindle/e-reader the slower it gets anyway... lag changing pages... slow dictionary/searching... etc...

The dictionary has been lagging lately. I should probably delete more books from my device.

I use calibre to track my addiction, and modify metadata and titles for easier series sorting... I just deleted about 100 abandoned series books from it and still have 210 unread books there out of 1250... based on folder numbers in my library directory, tho, I've deleted nearly 1200 books from calibre over time... Gardens of the Moon #2407

I used calibre when I transferred books from my old Kobo to the Kindle, but I haven't touched in a while. I probably should update my folders there.

It started with Margret. She's obsessed with going Septa Unella on the world.

Books read:

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor - finished the first book of the duology. Added this series to Up to Date.

House of Chains by Steven Erikson - that brings me to 4/10 at Malazan

And looking at my Kindle account, I noticed that I already own the first book of:

The Faithful and the Fallen by John Gwynne- 0/3
The Broken Eart by N.K. Jemisin- 0/3

That brings my "Already bought but didn't start" to 21 series.

Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians - new series started. That brings my "Already bought but didn't start" to 20 series and brings up my incomplete series to 10.

The Great Hunt - that brings me to 2/14 at Wheel of Time.

Good job! 10 is a good number. I wish I were at 10 lol.

I normally binge read series, so it is rare for me to keep too many open. My issue is more on the side: I bought it but I didn't read yet. ;)

I loved Strange the Dreamer. The prose is so exquisite that the whole time I was reading I felt like I was in a dream. The world building and the characters were very interesting and they developed well. It definitely checked all the boxes for me.

Legion - new series started. That brings my "Already bought but didn't start" to 19 series and brings up my incomplete series to 11.

Midnight Tides - by Steven Erikson - that brings me to 5/10 at Malazan

The Curse of the Pharaohs - that brings me to 2/19 at Amelia Peabody.
