Akaycia sat on one of the barstools, flipping through a magazine carelessly as she sipped a hot cocoa. Jace had broken up with her at the beginning of the summer, and school was about to start back up for her. Sighing, she found herself growing bored. She only came here whenever she had nothing to do. After scanning the room, she decided she could get some reading done. After all, not like she could go home to have a quiet place. Her sister was constantly bringing home boys to sleep with, and her mother was always arguing with her about it. Akaycia was more the quiet one of the house. As she leaned back in her chair and pulled out her book, she tried not to think of what it would be like to have to face Jason tomorrow. He’d cheated on her, slapping him in public wouldn’t be a crime, would it?

~~~
Jason drove out to the front of the coffee shop and parked out the front. He walked into the coffee shop. He looked around and saw Akaycia. He sat next to her and put his arm around her. He looked at her and saw the dirty look she was giving her. "What? Your not still angry are you?" He asked her not knowing how she would react.
Akaycia smiled back when the tanned boy smiled at her, but she jumped the moment she felt Jason’s arm around her shoulders. His voice, that’s what set off the canons in her head. “Fuck off, Jason.” She growled, shrugging his arm off as she stared at the opposite wall. He’d cheated on her. Mentally, she was slapping him over and over until that pretty face of his was as red as her’s had been when she’d cried over him. It was something she couldn’t believe, she’d actually wasted tears on him. Sighing, she turned to finally glare at him. “You really think you can charm your way out of this? I don’t want to talk to you ever again, Jason, so leave me the hell alone.” She muttered, turning to stare down at the counter in front of her. Though she couldn’t help but spare at glance at the boy who’d sat on the other side of her.
~~~
Evan watched the two of them and saw the discomfort in the girls eyes. He knew it was none of his buissiness but he had to try help her. "Is there a problem here?" He asked her. "Is he bothering you?" He asked her looking at the slightly smaller boy.
Akaycia shot a grateful gaze at the slightly taller boy, but she decided to take tis into her own hands. She wasn’t exactly helpless, and if he was going to pursue this then she’d use her last resort. Getting up, she turned to face Jason and glared. “Wasn’t that bad? To hell it wasn’t that bad!” She growled before slapping him hard across the face. It actually felt good to finally get it all out. Stepping back slowly, “Leave. Me. Alone.” She muttered before walking to the back of the cafe, taking a seat at a table in the corner. After that, she only spared another glance up at the boy with brown hair, curious as to why he’d spoken up.

Jason was stunned as she slapped him a look of absolute hate and anger washed over his face. He got his bearings again, a look of doom in his eyes, and looked over at her. "You bitch." He said and slowly started to make his way towards her.
~~~
Evan stepped in the boys path as he made his way towards the girl. "I am pretty sure she said to leave her alone." He said to Jason.
~~
"Move out of the way this has nothing to do with you." He said as he looked at the boy up and down. He tried to push the boy out of the way so he could get through.
~~~
Evan didn't budge as the boy tried to push him. He stood his ground and a surprised look came over the boy's face. Evan pushed him back making him stumble and fall over one of the bar stools. "How about you leave now while you have all your limbs." He said.
~~~
Jason gave the boy the death stare. "Whatever freak." He said as he walked out of the coffee shop and into his car. He revved his car and sped off down the street.
~~~
Evan grabbed his coffee and slowly made his way down to the girl. He sat across from her and looked at her. "Are you alright?" He asked with a kind look on his face. He ran a finger through his hair and took a sip from his coffee. He smiled softly, his warm brown eyes shining from the lights. "Who was that tool anyway?" He asked
Akaycia watched the entire exchange in slight awe, nobody having ever stood up for her like that before. When he sat down, a small smile was playing across her lips. “I’m fine, thanks. You really didn’t have to do that, I could’ve taken care of myself.” She shrugged but gave him another glance over her book. “He’s Jason. My ex who also happens to be a douchebag.” She sighed, shaking her head. “I don’t know why I ever even dated him in the first place.” She ran a hand stressfully through her long chestnut born hair. “Anyway... Why did you stand up for me? I don’t think I know you from anywhere. But it really is sweet of you, can I repay you?” She asked, looking up at him over her book. Her big brown eyes were focused on him, studying him intently. There was something about him, she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Though it didn’t bother her, and he seemed like a really nice guy. Why not?
