situation Snow Creek pack, a pack of werewolves, was once flourishing. They lived peacefully, in secrecy, among the humans. Until a virus hit - a virus that infected many of the pack members. It would start out as a violent cough and weakness, then escalate to pure pain and misery - sickness at it's worst. And than eventually, death. The healers worked furiously, day and night, to find the cure. But it was already too late, the virus killed off half the pack; the elders, the young ones, even the strong ones; including the alphas. Once they were able to slow down the virus, not kill it, they went into a "depression". With nobody to lead them, they became violent and aggressive toward each other. Until one day, a drastic decision was made to help their pack become whole again; to kidnap innocent humans and turn them into werewolves.
