Redangel333 | 275 comments I often see Governors as a name in the database and I think this is an own project. There seem to be an awful lot of books with only Governor or Governor of State xyz as the author.
https://www.goodreads.com/search?utf8...

For the different states in the US there seem to be one for nearly all of the states:
Governor of Arizona
Governor of the State of Connecticut (USA)
Governor of Massachusetts
Nebraska Governor
Montana Governor

sometimes even with more elaborated titles like a task force or commitee or something:
Montana Governor's Task Force to Renew
Montana Governor's Committee on Proble
Montana Governor's Coal Gasifica Force
Montana Governor's Office of Commerce
Montana Governor's Ground Water Adviso
Montana Governor's Commission on Statu

sometimes the name has a clue in it from which year the governor was:
Minnesota Governor (1858-1860 Sibley)
Minnesota Governor (1876-1882 Pillsb
Minnesota Governor (1874-1876 Davis)
I keep solving the ones with a year in it while coming across them in the Authors with dates project, but the other ones probably need to be looked at as well.

Redangel333 | 275 comments Found another one which is rather strange:
A Gouverneur

This is a last name, not a title.

Do you know the first name by chance? I have not found anything other than Gouverneur beeing a different writing of Governor.

lethe | 16359 comments No sorry, I don't.

This one, perhaps?

ETA Yep, that's the one. Scroll down for the Oeuvres complètes de Rémy Belleau.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments If the book was published as "A Gouverneur", should we count it as a pseudonym?

I can't find the thread where we discussed this last, and the previous time I brought this up, the book was effectively anonymous, so any rulings wouldn't be relevant here since we know who was writing as AG...

Does that mean to not change the name to Aristide?

lethe | 16359 comments The editions on GR look like public-domain to me. They can't be trusted with correct naming.

I would go with the French National Library and use his full first name.

ETA No, you're right, it was published under A. Gouverneur. I would use that name and mention Aristide in the author bio.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments I confused myself there - I think I read it as A. Gouverneur = Rémy Belleau not Aristide Gouverneur.

The original covers I can see on BnF say A. Gouverneur, not Aristide. In that case he's A. Gouverner, but I'd stick Aristide in the description in his case. But that was a quick look so I might have missed some with his full name. If there are any originals with Aristide, then I'd say we have to go with that as per fullest-form rule.

Redangel333 | 275 comments ok, I can not follow on the BnF part due to a lack of understanding French. I just leave the profile for anyone to solve who like to have a go as I am confused by the answers.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Merged him with the existing A. Gouverneur and checked description to include his full name.

Redangel333 | 275 comments I striked A. Gouverneur in my post as it is already solved. The American Governors still seem to be open.

Redangel333 | 275 comments I have striked the ones from my initial post that seem to be solved.
It is a bit unclear to me how to proceed with the ones with Governors in the title.
Here are some profiles that are unclear to me as well.
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (U.S.)
Bd of Governors of the Federal Reserve S
U.S. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
