2018 - What Series are in Your Pipeline?
Organized people are so fascinating
I'll have to think on it, but I think I'll be starting Drenai Saga for sure next year

Numbers 1, 2, 3 (need to continue), 4, 5, 7, 19, 21, 23, 24 and 29 are on my imaginary list as well. Number 13, Tales of the Kin was on it too, but I don't think the third book will ever come out because author is dealing with depression and decided to start a new series. I've read that on his website.

So happy to see Inda on your list.
Only series I plan on starting are The Black Magician trilogy by Trudi Canavan and Riftwar Saga by Raymond Feist. I have them in audio so know I will get to them. Have a bunch of Kindle series to start but need to get others done first.
Edit: Looks like Samir beat me to the Hulick news.

1. Malazan - this is a must, honestly. I plan on doing the BRs with the group, if everything works out.
2. Wheel of Time (Jordan).
3. Riyria Chronicles & Legends of the First Empire (Sullivan).
4. The Draconis Memoria (If I don't get to it by the end of 2017). This one is definitely high priority.
5. Long Price Quartet.
6. Gods of Blood and Powder & Powder Mage Novellas(McClellan).
7. Farseer Trilogy (Hobb). High priority.
8. Codex Alera (Butcher).
9. Books of Babel (Bancroft). High priority.
10. The Raven Cycle (Stiefvater). Gotta get my dose of YA =].

Honestly it's only through necessity. I feel like Jack the Pumpkin King running around yelling What's this? What's this? Every time I see a new book or series. Having the list dilutes my adult ADD.

Me too! We should Buddy Read it together. I was thinking of starting in the spring.

Thanks a lot, Scott.
Now not only do I feel like a slacker for being completely unorganized, I have that song stuck in my head as well.

Next series after that will probably be the A Shadow in Summer. Someone named Scott with a lot similar taste as me have it as #4 on his top 10 of all time series list. Which, of course, means I have to read it too.
Luckily for me, I've already made a list for my Overflowing Bookshelf Challenge.
Series I'd like to make a concerted effort to start in 2018 (keeping in mind my Incomplete Series Challenge).

The Mirror Empire
Stormdancer
Nevernight
Leviathan
The Red Knight
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms etc.
In that order. :D

You should totally do the Unclean Spirits read with us. I'll be setting it up today.

Yea... I'm no good at planning reads that far out if you ignore Buddy Reads I sign up for... I'm more likely to try and get to whatever I'm interested in sooner...
The ones on my radar right now are:
Buddy Reads: Malazan, Temeraire, Gentleman Bastards, and Menagerie
Other Series: Riyria, Codex Alera, 1st Farseer trilogy #2-3, Powder Mage, Honey Badgers, Emperor's Edge

Can I just say that I'm feeling an odd mix of elation and depression at all of these unstarted series. Too many damn books to read. It's an awesome problem but at the same time a daunting one.

I was thinking about it but it would go poorly for my Incomplete series and Overflow challenges.

Looking at your list I should have mentioned I also didn't include first in series books I know I'm starting like
Scythe
Blackwing (already a BR)
The Guns Above
Age of Assassins (already a BR)
Faithless
The Court of Broken Knives

That's a lot of series... I've been hearing a lot about Long Price Quartet and Draconis Memoria recently... I might try those as well... I try not to click every book I see listed in lists like this... I don't need 1000 more books to read when you add all the books in each series...

4-5 years of reading? Did I get it?

The Dagger & the Coin - (even bought the first book recently - BEFORE starting Niki's book buying ban challenge)
The Farseer trilogy - (really all of Robin' Hobbs' books)
Malazan series - (doing the BR here starting in Jan.)
Draconis Memoria
Raven's Shadow
Chronicles of the Unhewn Throne
Codex Alera
The Dark Tower - (I've read the first two but need to get back to it)
Worldbreaker Saga
Vampire Empire
Rot and Ruin
The Sanctuary Duet
Trade Pack Universe
Paladin's Legacy
The Chronicles of St. Mary's
@Bill: Sounds about right... the problem is that a lot of series aren't over, and also add more new releases you need to read to keep up each year...
I'm seeing a lot of potential for more Buddy Reads on these overlapping lists...
Happy to see people reading The Chronicles of St. Mary's... such a fun series...

I'm pretty much done with new releases. It was the easiest thing to cut away to keep my incomplete series challenge from getting even more absurd.

Probably, unless you won an Audible free for life subscription. :)

Yeah I'm looking forward to it ^_^. I feel like this past year I did a whole lot of catching up on series I hadn't finished, along with just trying to find new material to read, and so I feel really good about my plans for this upcoming year.

I have one book left of Codex Alera and I'm reading the second Draconis Memoria right now. Both amazing, you have some nice stuff in your future. :D

I've heard many good things so I'm very excited =]
So, Scott... when in 2018 might Inda work for you? I imagine it will take me a couple of months to read each one, realistically.

So if no one has heard from me in a month or two, please send a search party....

You've certainly set yourself up for success. Can't wait to see you start those. :)

Generally, if I like a series and a new book comes out, I WANT to read it... going forward I think most romance/PNR is going to end up Abandoned if/when a new release comes along, but for most UF series and the like, I'm invested and still enjoying them...
35/136 reads this year have been new releases... with 7 more planned... I have 30 shelved already for next year...

Why a couple of months for each? I don't really care I'm just curious. I'm trying to not commit to more than 3 buddy reads per month so I could do one of these combos which complies not doing back to back months.
Jan, May, July and Sep
May, July, Sep and Nov
June, Aug, Oct and Dec

I like the 1st one. It will allow me to start Malazan and Inda, but not feel rushed. What day of the month will work for you? It seems like the 20th is open currently.

This one isn't available in audio and I'm struggling to find time to read physical copies lately. I imagine I'll have a couple of ARCs in the mix then too. You're going to fly through it, I'm sure.

For January the 17th.
May I can do anything starting between the 1st-10th
July and Sept anything 5 days before or after the 15th.
There's nothing saying we have to start them all the same day of the month so I'm trying to be as flexible as I can.

I'm probably going to slow my roll after October 5th. I can sense a little bit of burnout. I'm not going to commit to as much and I'm going to go into my other preferred genres more.

It certainly seems that way. I'm not sure if you're doing Age of Assassins, Blackwing or Oathbringer. It does seem like many of your series (Wot) are ones I've finished and vice versa (Expanse).

Yes I'm joining Age of Assassins. I don't think I'll make it to the Oathbringer party, though. Either way I'm looking forward to the ones we have scheduled. :)
