message 106: by Felicity (last edited Jan 24, 2018 07:02PM) (new)

Felicity I read Daniel Fights a Hurricane a few years ago and it was pretty good. Alternatively, you could also read it for the mental health prompt.

message 107: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (sweetheavenlygrace) | 8 comments For this challenge I'm reading Flowers in the Snow by Danielle Stewart.

Dedra ~ A Book Wanderer (abookwanderer) | 190 comments I haven't read this one yet, but it's sitting on my shelf. It might be time to pull it down. Snowblind

Read "Gone with the Wind" years ago with another book club. It's a long book but loved it!

Jordan (jordancosby) | 2 comments Just finished reading Natural Disaster: I Cover Them. I Am One. by Ginger Zee (ABC's Chief Meteorologist). It was a fast, easy, and interesting read about her life's journey.

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments I’m going with the brand new book The Storm King by Brendan Duffy. I really enjoyed his first book.

message 116: by Jaclyn (new)

Jaclyn (jayinbee) | 22 comments I read Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman for this prompt and I adored it (but I love most everything Gaiman does). Arguably, the best part is that if you want to use a different book for each prompt instead of doubling up, it's only 8 chapters and can easily be read in a few hours. It's written for younger readers but not exclusively, as it can be enjoyed by all.

message 117: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Williams | 5 comments I read Bone Dry. The book is set during a drought which plays a significant role in unearthing the mystery. So am thinking it would work for this prompt?

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments Lisa wrote: "I read Bone Dry. The book is set during a drought which plays a significant role in unearthing the mystery. So am thinking it would work for this prompt?"

I would say dry describes a weather pattern/condition!

Jill Johnston (readwithjillandjune) | 5 comments Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor

message 120: by Cindy (new)

Cindy At the Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald. This is an old fairy tale story written by a Scottish minister. The north wind is an actual character. It would be a great story to read to children.

Hey Britany.. had no idea you were doing the Popsugar challenge.. and I also never thought of rainbow as being a weather element.. thanks for the idea!

message 133: by Britany (new)

Britany | 1699 comments YES! I've quickly become obsessed Crumb. I would count a storm as a weather element. ;)

message 134: by willaful (new)

willaful I was looking for a book for this, then realized I was actually in the middle of The Other Wind.

Britany.. I've become obsessed too! I love this challenge!

message 136: by Shelley (new)

Shelley | 231 comments I really want to read Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman, but haven't been able to get a hold of it yet. I ended up reading Season of Mists, which is the fourth Sandman graphic novel. It was more plot driven than some of the early volumes, which i enjoyed.

message 140: by Ian (new)

Ian (iansreads) Would Sunburn count here?

message 141: by Jennifer (last edited Jun 19, 2018 09:46PM) (new)

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments Ian wrote: "Would Sunburn count here?"

Mmmm....I don’t think so. Sunburn is caused by the weather but is not a weather element like rain, wind, storm, snow, etc. But you could use it for the antihero/villain or song lyrics prompt (name of an Ed Sheeran song) which is what I used it for.

message 142: by Linda (new)

Linda Hanson | 24 comments I think so. It has Sun in the title even though it is a compound word. I used Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farms for another prompt but felt it would also fit into this one.

message 143: by Teri (new)

Teri (teria) | 1554 comments I agree with Linda on this.

message 144: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments Crumb wrote: "This might sound silly.. but can someone tell me if storm is considered a weather element?"

I’d say yes definitely. I used The Storm King by Brendan Duffy for this prompt.

message 145: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments Kim wrote: "Would The Dry work for this prompt?"

I say yes since Dry is a weather condition.

I agree with Jennifer. Sunburn isn't 'weather'.

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Does Hot Asset by Lauren Layne counts?

message 150: by Bhavna (new)

Bhavna | 57 comments Can a Sting of Peppercorns fit into 'A book with a weather element in the title' prompt? A sting jet is a meteorological phenomenon that forms as a part of some rapidly developing mid-latitude storms.
