Mary Pat | 2186 comments Suggested break down of reading so that you can check in and let us know how you're doing. The following breakdown is purely a suggestion and is therefore not set in stone.

Rather than putting dates for each section I've done it so that it takes into account that not everybody will necessarily have the book at the same time.

Week 1: 53
Week 2: 53
Week 3: 53
Week 4: 53

Definitely join in. After I finish Big Little Lies, I'm reading this one. I'll probably start it by the end of this week.

I have added you to the list of participants!

Scott Flicker | 1191 comments I have started on the book. It's really short so I should finish it soon. I love all the Nadsat speech.

Scott Flicker | 1191 comments I finished it. It was a real horrowshow raskazz.

Joan Barnett | 1007 comments I'll be reading it this weekend. Unfortunately I have been putting in a billion hours at work this week. It looked like you liked it.

Joan Barnett | 1007 comments I just read the introduction from the author. He said he originally wrote 21 chapters but the US published only 20. Everywhere else in the world they published the original 21. The one I'm reading has 21 chapters. I thought that was interesting though. The movie Kubrick did was only on the 20 chapters.

Scott Flicker | 1191 comments The introduction talking about the chapter differences between the US and UK (rest of world versions) was very interesting. I watched the movie version multiple times mostly in college so the 20 chapter version is what I'm familiar with. I loved the line from the introduction comparing kennedy and nixon and how the different versions relate to each.

Joan Barnett | 1007 comments I kind of didn't know what I was getting into with this book which I like not knowing what to expect. I've only read the first chapter so far. It's easy to read even with the Nadsat speech. I don't think it's going to be one of my favorites but I like the fact that it is so different.

Coffee With | 26 comments I've seen the movie several times. As disturbing as it is, it's one of my favorite films and gives a whole new meaning to the song Singing In The Rain, but I digress.

I tried reading the book and couldn't. I might give it another go after I've finished the five I have to read now.

Joan Barnett | 1007 comments I just finished Part II. The Nadsat speech does add to the story. I applaud the author for writing it that way. It must have been a challenge. I think I read that he wrote the whole book in 3 weeks. I have to admit though I have some problems following parts of the book and I go read online the cliff notes after I've read a section. I think part of it though is just because I'm not that into the book and I glaze out on some parts. I'm ready to be done with it and move on to another book. I'm hoping to finish it tonight.

Joan Barnett | 1007 comments I finally finished it. I enjoyed the second and third parts much more. It seemed more like a dystopian. I thought it brought up great questions about choice. I enjoyed reading something different even though at times it was a struggle.
