Here we are in the final section. There may be spoilers, but please alert us to them, should we not all be done with the book.

This final section starts with a bang, with an intruder in the house with Sophie. Wearing a Paula Deen mask, of all things. I think that the intruder is Natasha, though I'm not much into this section yet. Just my gut.

Meanwhile, Humphrey is along, misguided though he is about Sophie and himself. The head with Nina to a somewhat low brow bar that Bernie frequents.

Meanwhile, Wolf, though being very stern and unfriendly kisses Sophie!

Which one of you is the Colonel? lol Can you picture the look on their faces? Especially the women. lol

Mini-spoiler - Was she planted or did he really put in an order for her?

Not a good idea to share her plot with Hannah. She's too close to things. :-/

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments Possible spoiler alert!

It's all coming together now in a slightly comical way....I love how Bernie is their contact at the bar, lol!

I initially thought she was planted.... ;-)

I thought she just was stupid. lol. Okay, that's a bit harsh but I hope the second in the series shows she wakes up!

Finished. Pretty good for a first in a series. No slumps here.

I hope to finish soon. I've been busy with cooking and cleaning for tomorrow! I hope no one steals my thyme.

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments Funny story about thyme...
I can't remember who I told this story to online but probably not you all!
I worked in a grocery store while I was in college and a man asked me to help him find a spice. He said his wife wanted some thyme but he couldn't find it and really needed it. Well, of course I found it in about 2 seconds on the shelf LOL He said OH that's thyme?? I was looking for something spelled T-I-M-E LOLOL It took a lot of self control not to laugh!!

Well, I've cleaned the house as well as it's going to be, and all the cooking and prep I can do in advance is done. Table is set.

So I set down to finish the book, as so I did!

MAJOR SPOILER:

It was interesting that I ID'd Clyde or Vicki as the possible culprits, but not together and certainly not the with motive they had (though, I don't think that was figure-out-able.)

And all of the loose ends were closed as well: the stalker, the mischief at the stuffing contest, and even why Otis had Sophie's info in him when he died.

A really pleasant read--the Diva series always is. (I think there are some I haven't yet read.)

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments Loved this book! This was probably the third time I'd read it, lol, but I think it's very appropriate for November!

SPOILER: I agree with everything that Mark pointed out. Clyde and Vicki were suspicious from the beginning, but I never tied them together until the scene in Sophie's house. Also, I think it's hilarious that Francie was stalking the colonel!!! All was neatly tied up, and I appreciate that in a mystery. :-)

p.s. I don' t know about you guys, but I certainly wish I had a freezer full of cookie dough , etc., ready for midnight baking on a whim!

LOL He will never forget her thyme ever again...but then, she may never send him to the grocers ever again.

In agreement with all the above...esp. the cookie dough part. However, I bought some excellent butter cookies from a NY bakery type thing. They taste of the real deal not the spmkt. knock off stuff...though I wouldn't throw those in trash can. lol

Clyde did seem good for the perp but I got turned around some with introduction of all the characters' possible motives. I was stuck 'tween Craig and Clyde. Clyde and Craig.

Still hope Hannah ditches Craig. He's creepy and has some sort of odd control over her.

Felt sorry for Francie. All she wants is a nice male companion to call her own. She put much into the colonel only for another babe to fanny in and snatch him up. lol But it must hurt being an elderly gal's chances at love and possible candidates dwindle at that stage of the game.

Sounds wonderful, Pghfan, but you forget directions to your house! lol

Off topic...Were you able to experience Versailles, Mark? Another installment last night and it was go-od! Hope you get a chance to try it. I am 99.99% sure you'll love it. Oui, oui!

Nope, Tina. Time for that later. Right now, I have pretty much every dish in the house to clean!
