MJ is pretending this is a realistic list! 2018 Challenge

You and me both! I just finished supper and I was talking about The Stand with my husband and how I've been talking about reading it!
Welcome to the challenge MJ and I hope you have fun reading in 2018. That is some list! Good luck

The Stand is excellent, by the way :0)
Nice start of your challenge.

I haven't seen the new movie and was not really planning to. I haven't had the urge to see new movies in recent years! I do want to read more of Christie's Poirot series though. Good to hear about The Stand. I will tackle that one when and if I finish Ulysses!

For I1 - a twentieth century classic.

I really enjoyed it! That said, I read the uncut version and there were a few places where it dragged, and I wonder if those parts were what was originally left out. There were so many characters that sometimes I had trouble keeping them straight.
Maybe someday I will read the original version. Haha.

To a God Unknown for
N1: North American Classic
I really enjoyed it.

Just So Stories for
B2: Children’s Classic
Honestly, it took a day.
In the months since my last comment, I also managed to finish
The Back of the Turtle
O1: Literary Prize of Your Country/Region (Canada).
I need to read more of Thomas King.

B1: Written by Nobel Laureate
and Ulysses for
G4: Group Read
Abandoned, not because I didn't like them, but because I've been too busy this year. I'd like to get back to both. Realistically, I will manage to finish A Wizard of Earthsea for
O5: Classic written by a Female Author
and hopefully something else. A bunch of the books on my list appeal to me, but it's about time. It's December. I'm low on family, so my seasonal commitments are few. I bury myself in books instead. We'll see what I can finish between this challenge and my other GR reading challenge.

I am picking up In a Glass Darkly
This has been on my tbr since I joined goodreads. It is not my first choice right now. Some of the longer books on my bingo list appeal more, but this one is short - ish. It is also on Project Gutenberg - and I am currently on lunch break at work, with only work-related books in sight!

Out of Africa
This has been on my tbr for a while, and although I've put it into my reading plans for the last few years, I've been avoiding actually reading it. I went through the books I have left for my other reading challenge, and this was one of the few available at the library for me to pick up today.
I suppose I could also read it for the prompt, An African classic, but I know this is also a movie. Interestingly, the copy I picked up is a first edition (1937) printed in Glasgow. They don't make books like they used to! It is in surprisingly great shape. The first few pages make me happy. I hope I enjoy the rest of it.

I enjoyed it much more than I expected!

N5: African Classic
I just started reading Murder at the Vicarage and I am going to see if I can fit it somewhere. I suspect not...
[edit]
Aha! It fits for B4: Classic Made into a Film/TV!

I think that brings this year's bingo to a close for me, although I hope to finish at least one more of the books (not for this bingo) I'm currently reading before the calendar changes tonight.
Happy New Year everyone! I can't wait to tackle my 2019 reading pile tomorrow!

That being said, I've read a lot of "side reads" this year that didn't fit categories for either challenge.
