Maybe something will pop up as you read :-)

Side/minor characters can be used as well. They need to have a little bit of impact on the story though and at least a couple of lines.

Also, if you happen to spot an I character, give a shout! To keep our options open.

Savana is most likely going to read The Selection for 5 Blue (setting Illea) but there may be an E or N character in there somewhere... I can't remember them all, it's been a while since I've read the book.
And then we can switch around the books and make the most use of our colour covers.

In the other book. Fantastic Beasts doesn't have enough words, according to arbookfind.

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Important:

Please mark your books as read with a read date once you're done *and put them on your uno shelf, of course*. Preferably also put them as currently-reading once you start them.

Thanks!!

Also: if you are unsure about something concerning the challenge, feel free to ask! None of us bit :-)
And if at any point I don't make any sense whatsoever, don't hesitate in asking me to clarify. I know my way around my own head, others might not necessarily ;-)

message 161: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Hope you enjoy it! It sounds light and fluffy just looking at the title and cover hehe.

I'm going to finish up the two books I STILL have not managed to finish... Yesterday was a little crazy at work since it was my last day before a week off and then I never have time to read even one page, then I was too tired last night to read a lot.

But since I now have a week off... :-))
I'm going to finish those two books hopefully today and then I'll dive into Uno books for good. I'm at least planning on using the first few days of my holiday for reading and chilling.

Only just started it. It was nominated for several prizes, so I hope so! I've only read one of Toibin's books before, and I have a lingering association of evocative writing.
It was turned into a movie, but I've not seen the film yet.

I'll feedback!

Yay, there was an E character after all - perfect! :-)

Did you enjoy the book? The synopsis makes it sound like a nice, sort of summer read (which does not at all fit with the snow that has been steadily falling here since some time during the night haha).

A

I’ve read better to be honest! There was a twist at the end but it wasn’t big enough to make me feel completely satisfied after reading it. It’s very summery though - fits in with the snow falling here too 😊

Cat (cat_uk) | 2147 comments Eldarwen wrote: " the snow that has been steadily falling here since some time during the night..."

Yup, the Big February Freeze is happening!

I was in Oxfordshire with my brother this weekend, just below the Ridgeway. The wind that comes down from the Ridgeway has clearly come from Siberia, with nothing between us to take of the bite. Insta-frozen peeps!

That wind is one of the things I don't miss, living in London now!

And I give praise to the wonder of the Gulf Stream too, keeping most of England free from snow :)

message 190: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I actually quite like the snow, though not the chaos it usually causes on streets because people aren't all that used to snow here and then it's like they forgot how to drive. *rolls eyes*

Preferably, I like a looovely sunny and cold day with snow all around. It's just awesome! Those days are unfortunately rare though, but maaaaybe just maybe, tomorrow will be such a day. Sun is announced! But then... they also said it wasn't going to snow today hahah ;-)

I agree on the wind though! Frozen extremities within seconds of setting foot outside! And bright red cheeks hehe.

Yes! We need quite a few of those.

message 192: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (louloo) | 314 comments I’ve looked through my TBR list and found a few :

The Christmas Secret Karen Swann
The Bach Manuscript Scott Mariani
The Rome Affair Karen Swann
Killer Ball at Honeychurch Hall Hannah Dennison
The Hourglass Tracy Rees

They all have a person or place beginning with B somewhere.

message 193: by Eldarwen (last edited Feb 06, 2018 04:28AM) (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I'm assuming you mean H, not B ;-)

That is quite an impressive list!! And if one of them fits for a Red cover.... even better!

We need a few more of those for our coloured cards, and then we also need to fill in a few Wild Draw 4 cards (for which we need to duplicate a coloured card each).

Doh! Yes H. None of them will fit red. I have Origins by Dan Brown in hardback to read but wasn’t sure if that was more of a dark pink??
