Jennifer Strand (jenniferstrand) | 4 comments I'm Jen and live in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN. I'm married with three children (a 17, 15 and 11 year old) and manage a group of Sales Engineer for a company that provides construction management software.

I enjoy reading all types of fiction but especially love Young Adult, Romance and the angst of New Adult.

I fell short of 104 books last year because LIFE happened. Hoping to redeem myself and hit 160 books this year.

Kajoli Barker Conner | 51 comments I'm Lizlo (or "Kajoli" on my profile). I live near San Diego, CA. The youngest of my 3 kids is a college sophomore this year, so hubby and I are doing the empty nest thing. When I'm not reading, I teach mathematics (Calculus, Precalculus and Intermediate Algebra) at Crawford High School. I tend to favor sci-fi, fantasy, historical fiction (where it does NOT intersect with romance) and non-fiction, but I'm happy to read a good mystery, YA, true crime or contemporary lit book, too.

I did make my 104 book challenge this year (107/104), and am hoping to repeat.

Nicole | 85 comments Hi all! I'm Nicole. I'm soon to be 40 (ugh), single with no kids (not by choice). I live in a small town in Tennessee. I'm a Critical Care Paramedic and I've been in EMS half my life. I also work where I live (that can be a blessing or a curse). I have a 22 year old Goddaughter and a soon to be 8 year old Godson. I love my Vols. I love hockey and my Preds (Pekka is my soon to be husband he just don't k ow it yet 😉). I'm a geek. I love Star Wars, Doctor Who and anything Marvel and DC. I enjoy history and mythology. I read just about anything YA, NA, adult, romance, paranormal and fantasy. Angst is good. Nothing that comes easy. One of them has to work hard to get what they want. It don't just fall in their lap. Lol. I've yet to reach my goal in the past but hope to correct that this time. With that said Let's get this party started! ☺

Deanne (deanne33) | 203 comments Hey everyone! I'm Deanne! I'm a Youth Services librarian in New Mexico and I love this challenge and seeing what everyone is reading! I read adult romance- the steamier the better, Young Adult and Middle Grade (mostly for work). Occasionally, I'll a non-fiction to the mix- I love mountaineering/adventuring disasters.

Mary (mary_qp) | 80 comments Hello! I'm Mary. I live in northwestern PA with my husband, dog, and cat. Last year I set my reading goal at 75 because I planned on a lot happening, then I lost my job and had a lot of reading time on my hands. I changed my goal to 100, got a new job, and had no time to read. I crammed some graphic novels in at the end to meet my goal. I'm going to be starting a new job soon so this year I'm setting my goal at 75 and leaving it. Whatever happens happens. I mostly read YA, adult romance, and whatever Deanne tells me to read.

Hiya! I’m Thamy. I live in England, in the North East with my husband, 2 kids and 2 cats. Last year I read 74 books, I usually read more than that but work and family life kept me too busy. I usually forget to add books to my goodreads especially when I’m rereading paperbacks. I’m hoping I can read 80 books this year. I read adult romance and fantasy mostly.

Lyssa | 58 comments Hello! Lyssa from Southern California back again for another go-round. Just had a midlife career change from medical administration to teaching 4th grade and it's been challenging and amazing all at the same time.

Managed to use my breaks to make my goal last year even though I ran behind most of the year, so I'm going to stick with 110 again this year. I lean toward sci fi, dark fantasy, biographies and travel writing, tho I'm trying to use my library's e-book access to broaden my horizons. I also need to make a dent in the "To Read" bookshelf (I keep buying them for "when I have time"... ha!)

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is reading.

John | 24 comments Hello everybody, my name is John I am presently a disabled stay at home father of one gorgeous (almost) 2 year old little girl. She keeps me as active as I can be in my physical state but I wouldn't trade it for anything. As I no longer work I've found more time to read and I'm rediscovering my love of books after a very long hiatus of barely reading anything. I started the Popsugar challenge late last year and then due to a lot of health issues with myself and my daughter I wasnt able to finish it, but I have new vigor to complete it this year. By adding the additional 54 books for this challenge gives me an excellent goal to try to attain. I love pretty much any genre of books except the romance ones just can't get into them lol but my absolute favorite kinds are thrillers/suspense. Hope to make some friends with this group.

John | 24 comments Also quick question, I didn't see a questions board so I thought I could post it here, I noticed you said for comics we should follow the 4 to 1 ratio, what if we read a "volume" which consists of 6 issues could we count that as 1? (Specifically I'm referencing the walking dead volumes The Walking Dead, Vol. 25: No Turning Back)

message 12: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Shahan Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca. Mother of two. Avid reader by day and school custodian by night. I enjoy reading, volunteering with the local nature society, reading, finding new and fun things to do with my children, did I say reading?
I live in the quiet state of Delaware, born and raised. I love the small town vibes of my home town and state. The library is my families best friend.
I’ve joined this challenge for the last two years and never updated any of my reading. I’ve also done the goodreads challenge and each year fall short. I just finished my first book this year, dandelion wine by Ray Bradbury. Hopefully I can catch up! 😂

I joined this group because I would like to try it, at least read as much as I can. Finally, I would become a real mouse of library :)
