1. The 13th book - The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer
2. A book written by an author who is/was still in diapers or over-the-hill. - Frankenstein: The 1818 Text
3. A book with humor or horror - 'Salem's Lot
4. 300-350 pages - Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
5. A book that reminds you of home - I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
6. Suns, skies, stars, or planets on the cover - The Girl Who Drank the Moon
7. Chosen for the cover - Thunderhead

Rebecca | 7 comments Aw, thanks. I learned to give all books a chance no matter what age level they were listed under. My sixth-grade teacher gave me “Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone” as a prize for having the highest grade in the class. I was offended, because the cover looked so childish with a silly boy on a broomstick chasing after a ball (the series was not well known at the time). I eventually read it and it turned out to be one of my favorite books ever. :)
